i've had my x3 for about a week now and first impressions were not good. i was very close, on day 2, to sending it back. the menus were confusing, camera poor quality, ringtones rubbish. i can't tell you how glad i am to have stuck with it. a little bit of time split between the manual and practice has opened up an amazing phone. mp3 player is my favourite feature along with miniSD. i love the phone now, and realise that in the right hands it can outperform any phone @ this price. to all the people slagging it off 'a poor workman always blames his tools' nuff said

bomber, good point :D
Last Post here, as I do waste my time on here :)
"today 20/2/2005 had to take handset back because the thing keeps switching off whilst using wap browser."
....
"this has never happend b4 im now on handset number 3 and already the problems have started."
If you really aren;t happy, get a different handset?
"error file size to large for available mem."
Thats when you try to download something bigger than the size limit of 256kb the phone has... get over it...
"even tho im using brand new 256mb mem card."
Doesn't even come into the equation...
"tried switching to phone mem but still wont download eanything apart from polyphonic ringtones."
See above!
"after 5 mins into video clip the thing crashes settings for short + long clip dissapeared."
Hmm... never happenned to me or anybidy else for that matter...
"after 5 games are installed they all need to be installed again."
No they don't!
"your ringtones reset once you remove mem card."
Nope...
"and the 1.3mp camera has a faint red circle on all the pic you take.(look in the middle of the screen b4 taking pic you will c it)"
Hmm.... I have never seen a red circle on ANY of the pictures I capture...
"sometimes the images are green and totaly crap."
When you try to boost the light settings!
"this phone really sucks"
So does life... get over it
"the only thing its got going for it is loud speaker 2w and the video quality mp4 3gp."
The only thing.... God theres no end to this!
The only thing going for it is that its a nippy, reliable, small, cheap(ish), mp3 video phone on the markey!!!
"if i hadnt forked out £100 for mem card + card reader/writer id have got diffrent handset"
get a refund on your flippin reader then!
"if your thinking of buying this handset wouldnt bother shop around for similar 1.3mp camera phone"
Heres an alteration of that previous sentence...
"If you're thinking of buying this handset DONT bother listening to the muppet who has a faulty handset!!!! Look around for another 1.3mp camera phone which are bigger, more expensive, and too bulky..."

I pity anyone who was unfortunate enough to buy this phone. I got mine in september and its took me this long to get 02 to admit the thing had a problem it keeps deleting my games, credit and turns itself on and off. And thats only the start of my complaints with this phone. I'm getting rid of mine.

i've had the x3 since december and i love it, but you can't send and sometimes you can't even recieve through infrared/irda. the picture and video quality is brilliant. it,s a bugger that you need to buy a memery sd card reader to download mp3's off the pc.it has good ringtones (but can only can record tones 4 15 seconds) and screensavers etc.

Well... a couple of weeks ago i took my X3 back to the O2 shop and complained at the fact that it would just randomly turn off... they sent it off to be repaired, and i got it back about a week and a half later... they didn't tell me what was wrong with it, only that they'd fixed it. All they had done was updated the software on it. Well anyways, it has been fine for about a week, but now its started turning off again! Its really quite irritating since it only seems to do it when i begin to use the phone, like when i send a text, or attempt to make a phonecall, although sometimes i'll just take the phone out of my pocket and it will be off, i'll turn it on, and look at it later and it'll be off again! - really irritating... anyways, all i want really is any suggestions as to what i can do (without sending it back to O2) to stop this!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

This is my second X3 now ,the 1st one was robbed from my house!! I`ve never been let down by this phone, the signal sometimes drops pretty low , which never happened on orange , so i guess its an O2 thing.
The still camera is not as good as i hoped it would be , which i think we can all agree on ,the video is spot on as is the mp3 player
(with headphones on its superb)
i have a 512mb card in mine which allows me to put loads & loads of stuff on it,including full length films, no prob!
i`m not a super fast texter but i really like the iTAP system that this fone uses.
The nav buttons definitly do "mark" the screen,as this happened with my last one,so i bought a body glove for it off ebay (£4)and left all the original screen cellophane on, needless to say the phone is still mint.
All in all a good phone, not perfect but what is?
My mate has a £350 sony erik with 1.3mp camera which is double the size of mine, me , i like to keep my mobile mobile.
One last thing ...NICK... why you persist in answering the same questions time after time for people who can`t be bothered to read back is beyond me.
I`ll answer any Q`s i can but if they`ve been already answered.....no way.
Do you think maybe some are having a laugh?

"how do i put video`s on me phone ... i got mini s.d card but i not sure where 2 put it and what files are used thx ,...."
You need a card reader/writer which you would use to transfer your video files from your PC to the mini SD card. These files must be in .3gp or .mpg4 format, (I'm not sure about other types) and they must go in the Video folder on the mini SD card.

[quote]What do you mean "the video is gay" [quote]
the screen after recording a video is all fussy, and if u move the phone to quick it has to catch up which makes it fussy. i only tryed a few time to record stuff so maybe its just my recording skills haha.
i have no problems with the phone at all apart from that.

see if you have a mini sd adapter, the card reader and the lead that came with the card reader does that mean i don't need the usb cable that comes along with the phone. if i need the usb cable where can i get one ? also does this phone support mp3 ringtones ?
