Hi all,
Just thought I'd share this with you. In general I think this is a good phone with great features. I have had it for about a month and there were two things that didn't work as expected: The famous 1.3mega camara (soft or out of focus images) and when exiting from a game (block breaker) it would freeze but pressing the hangup button fixed that. I took it to o2 service shop at Cheapside and they sent it I don't know where for repair. Now it's back with a new firmware Ver. E05-1.22.01 was E05-1.08.01 and yes the camera is working better (considering that this is a phone) and the phone feels a bit faster. Later I'd post some pictures.

Okay guys, seems as though some of you are not being helpful. I understand that that its anoying to have to repeat your self as half this fourm is repeats, but the fact is that new users dont know its been mentioned three pages ago. In this case what I will do is to upload details on how to put mp3 on the phone and Nic's error methods for bring the phone back from the dead if thats okay with you Nic and other suggestions you may have that will help others.

Stacey, can you read? No thought not. 3 Pages back I explained what you needed and how to put mp3's on your phone. And why speak like that? It totally ruins this forum not being able to READ peoples posts. Speak english please, and we don't like chavs here...

I think Ste was just trying to say that it's a pain being given a really bad replacement phone. This wouldn't happen if the o2x3 was good in the first place.

i have had this fone for several months and besides a few game loading probs, it is the best phone at this price, you can't find another fone like it, besides the nokia 6230, but thats got a smaller screen and limited video. The video is unlimited on this, with gr8 image and sound quality and it has mini-sd card. Buy this fone now!!!(P.S:Need a card reader to download mp3s)

Khali, not even 3 pages ago I posted a walkthrough! Please look!!!
Ste, I understand that. Bad opinions should be put forward, but the bad opinions I dont like on here are the ones that just say the phone is crap just because of the camera or the feature you have to buy to be able to put mp3's on, wiothout considering the best features of the phone!

nick it seems that perhaps i should have logged on to this message board under something different other than just ste because it would seem that there has previously been a ste who has left messages that continuosly slag off the phone and i have been confused for him. the only messages i ever left have been the recent ones about my phone having a fault and two more recent ones, but however i do feel as this is a reveiw and opinion message board then if there are any bad point about this phone they should be put forward so anyone thinking of buying this phone is made aware that the same faults could happen to them

Alison, I totally agree with the iTap method. Its kinda slow and doesnt allow you to add words. I have had MP3's run OK as ringtones even if they are in a playlist... Strange...?

Forgot to say on my last message, I did try Vaughan's good suggestion for setting MP3 ringtones, but didn't work for my phone (ahh nuts). But I suggest other people try that before trying my long-winded way!

This is for all the people who were having problems getting their MP3's to hold as ring tones...I don't know if this will help anyone, but it seems as if going to the MP3 and pressing 'set as ringtone' does not work (well, it doesn't work on MY phone). However, I was fiddling around and went to a specific name in my phone book, then clicked on him, scrolled through the options until i got to 'ring' and set the MP3 tone from there. Now my MP3 plays every time he calls! yipee! But all my other calls still play melody 1, so it looks as if I'll have to go through people individually and set the tone, but that's ok. Hope this works for other people ;)

Nick, I do like the phone, although it took some getting used to as i've had Samsungs for the past few years. Not overly keen on the t9 format for texting. Think it would be better if it would let you add words to its memory. Again like I said in an earlier post, it would have been better if the mini sd adapter had been included with the phone, but you cant have everything I suppose. I actually rung O2 yesterday though, as I found out my O2 X3 wasn't covered by my O2 insurance cos i'd bought it off ebay, & I asked what phones I could get on upgrade & they're giving me a Samsung E330 for nothing, not quite sure why as I upgraded in September for free as well!), so i'm gonna see which phone I prefer when that arrives!
Oh & i'm the unknown who left the message for Simon. The computer went loopy & it deleted my name!

Ste, you say about not being in the postition to get a different phone, but that doesn't mean they can constantly come here and slag it all off, every time they find something the same as in a previous handset! The phone, yes, does have its problema, I admit, but other than that its all good!
Ste, you must have an impersonator cause I remember one post about you saying every feature of the phone is crap, but now you are saying they are not.
Please note, if anything goes wrong with the phone and does not turn on after turning itself off, as with any phone, leave it off for a while (24hrs) and then try again, Alison is a sucess story in that department. The way I found that out was via Sods law, i.e going to the o2 shop to ask about it, then finding out it worked as soon as I walked through the door, although talking to the o2 man he said that you can get your phone sent off and the service centre will upgrade and tweak it, to make it stable and faster. Something for you all to think about!
Liam, sorry mate, you cant send via IR...
