firstly allan i think you may have me confused with a different ste as i have only ever left to messages on here and i dont come on here to give "abuse".
dont get me wrong i think its a great phone the camera and video is excellent, the door bell thing doesnt really bother me. iv just come to notice that i am not the only person to experiance problems of this nature and have been told by o2 themselves that they have been overwhelmed with the amount of people returnig phones. this goes to show that the most up to date and modern phones on the market just cant cope with all of the features or software on the phone. And allan im not goona get into a slanging match with u iv got better things to do.....

Alison, good to hear it worked. What do you think of the phone overall. And, ive finally found someone who didnt leave a name who had a good point!! Simon, if you keep getting them , you are going to run into problems!

I think the order it plays them in is quite probably the order they are written to the card in, and because windows writes files in its own little "organised" way, you can never tell which order they are being written in, so the way to get them in an order you want is to write each file individually!

Simon not being funny but if you dont like them why do ya keep getting em? I assume they keep breaking, so why not replace them with a different phone?

Nick,
I didn't do anything. I'd had a phone call & put it in my pocket when i'd finished, & the next time I got it out it was off & wouldn't come back on.
But guess what?! I've done what you recommended & its working now!!! Thanks!!!

Allan, the only way to find out if its in size order is to put three or four mp3 files on the memory card, take a note of each mp3's memory size on a paper and them add them to ur phone like normal, see which order it plays in. Thats all i can say, I would try it out my self, but once again my memory card is not on me, if no one tries it out I'll have a go in the moring and let you all know.

Further to my own enquiry.
I have managed to get all files in order on the miniSD card but have yet to work out how these are listed on the phone as they are all over the shop. I am presuming that these are in file size order....anyone know if this is the case and how this can be overcome???

I was wondering what the little "8" thing was today as well. I tried to gently get it out to see what was what, but it wasn't having any of it.
For the guys who are having problems with MP3s as ringtones, that's all I can suggest. I noticed that after I'd been listening to the tunes, the one I had as my ringtone suddenly wouldn't play when I had an incoming call, and it reverted to "We Will Rock You". I unselected the MP3s in my playlist (ie, took the tick off them) and they then worked as ringtones. If that doesn't work for you then I'm not sure what else to try..

Ok now that's sorted......
Yeah right, just see how quickly I get abuse from "Ste" incorporating his favourite word (for new members the word is "crap")...
Anyone know how I can play my mp3's in a specific order?
Thanks in advance.

Message for "Ste".
You clearly can't stand the X3 but continue to log on to a forum about it every night. In my book you either have nothing good in your life (hence your obsession with the bad bits) and / or you are a sad muppet. You're entitled to your opinion and have expressed it repeatedly.
Move on my friend (with whatever phone you see fit) and be happy!
Message for "Nick".
You seem a decent chap so just ignore Ste's posts in future and maybe he'll get bored.
Don't rise to it.....it's for the best, believe me.

Ste, "well nick thank you for overwhelming assistance with this but the fact is i shouldnt have to leave the battery out for 24 hours or even 24 minutes and if i should then thats how they should advertise the phone secondly the phone hasnt just stopped working because it cant find signal its stopped working because its crap and if was simply the signal then the phone at least show the background display and light up (with the sim card in it) You of all people should know that!!!!"
Ste, the 24 hours are enough for the phone to flush out its caches. It happens with any phone so that isnt a bad point JUST about the x3. Trust me, and dont say things like "its stopped working because its crap" just try the theories first!!!!

Mini sd cards are the new type of memeory cards that will be used in new phones, so even if u change ur phone u can still use them in other phones that allow memory card readying, and mostly it will use mini sd, as soon they will no longer do multimedia cards.
