thought this phone was rubbish! no bloutooth, picture quality is sub-standard, you cant view numbers before you call them and u cant add new words into predictive txt - sent it back straight away before i even gave the mp3 player a chance!

After giving O2 data support a call (I know you have done this already) the guy called me back, checked the settings which were all correct, and looked at my account to see what was going through etc.
He then sent me an mms from his own phone, and got me to reply back to it, wierdly it went straight through to him and my credit was ajusted accordingly!!
V Spooky as I have tried all morning sending to various ppl I know and even myself and nothing went through! - and he said he had ajusted nothing!!
So I suggest you give them a call back and speak to the same guy he was named james frank ext 64925 - guess you have the data support no already from your attempts at sorthing it out! - he was very helpfull!
              Ste

Btw just got my new X3 delivered (to cure the faulty ear piece volume)so ill see if this new one stops sending mms in a few days and call him if it does - hopefully it will be ok!

HAS ANYONE ELSE GOT PROBLEM SENDING MMS AFTER A WEEK OF OWNERSHIP PN PAY AS YOU GO?
(if you check your credit before and after sending on mine it does not change and mms is not sent despite the phone saying it has been)

just a thought .... are all O2 online sims activated for mms -
and are there settingson the sm for this or is it just on the phone itself?

Shaun - I take it your mms is still ok??
is yours contract or pre-pay (mines pre-pay) - but the phone i now have is a contract model from O2, so I edited the wap settings to match my old one!

Going to give data support a ring and see if they can shed any light on it - I wonder if my old (1yr or so) are playing a part in it, but I had a new sim at home, tried it but that too failed to send, im sure there must be a logical explanation as not everyone is having this prob :(
Going to go to )2 shop and try my sims in another mms compatible phone and see if it will send, ill leave it with them if i have to and see if they can sort it out - though I bet i know more about it thhan them lol
Anyone got any suggestions etc as to why the mms may stop sending after a few days?

Had the x3 just over a month now and all the problems I read about on here have happened to me lol. Stopped sending media messages after a month etc.

The phone keeps turning itself off as does the screen, and the ring volume seems to be really quiet and I'm at the point now where I can't hear it ringing in my pocket.

The only advice goven by o2?

Take it down to your nearest o2 shop. As an online customer I was disappointed that they could only send me a standard e-mail after I went to the trouble of writing out exactly what was wrong with hmy brand new phone.

Before I do take it though I was wondering if anyone could help me...

                          1) Is the ringtone generally quiet on all x3's?

                          2) Should the external screen switch itself off?

Hi fellas. I got my X3 today. It looks like I have the new firmware: E05-1.22.01 Oct 04 04 17:28:56.

I haven't taken any pictures outside yet; however, the few I have taken inside are none too great. Admittedly this is bad as the main selling-point was the 1.3MP camera, but to be honest I never was really concerned if it took fuzzy pictures - have a digicam. I'll take some outdoor photos tomorrow and post some back. Light appears to have a great deal to do with the clarity of the pictures but I'll reserve judgment until the morning.

My main bugbears are the whacking great O2 logo slapped across the screen - kind of makes wallpapers a tad academic methinks! Also, it is extremely bad practice by O2 to flog the X3 as an MP3 player, without providing any way to upload them. It is simply not good enough to say, "Go and buy an SD adapter and reader", AFTER you've purchased the phone. I have some stuff from the Citizens' Advice Bureau already as it may fall under false advertising.

                            I'll keep you all posted.

Once you have put your MP3's on the card and back in the phone it will look like their are no MP3's their. However once you go to Edit Play list you can see all the files and tick the ones you want to play.
