Been on the phone to o2 today, asked about this new software version, reply was,there is not ?? lol twats

Well this is my 2nd phone, and after having it around a month it is now switching itself off first it was doing it one or twice a day, then today it switched off after 5 minutes of being switched on.
I messed around taking the battery out and looking at other setting. I found that if you went into settings, then display, then backlight, then time out and set it to 30 sec's, this seemed to have worked for me...well for now...it's been on for about 6hrs now. Hopefully this will fix it.I don't want to have to go through all the messing around like last time to send it back..

Danni - all depends if you are one of the lucky ones. I wanted this phone to take reasonable pics (I wasn't expecting anyhting amazing tho) and send MMS, watch MP4s and make phone calls.
It has done all this with no probs so far. The design is very sleek and compact, personally I am very happy with this phone.

Hey Danni - welcome to the madness :)
Kind of depends on wether you are lucky or unlucky as you will have seen some people have had probs while others have not - there seems to have been a new release of the firmware on the phone since the original lot were released - not sure if it cures the problems yet - but hope it does, I guess you will get one of the newer ones if you have just ordered it!!
Phone is good just a bit buggy, and the camera isnt that good (one the first ones anyway)

Hey, I've ordered an O2 X3 just today and now i've read these comments i'm having second thoughts. Is the phone really that bad?!?! =S

TJ - have a look ot my pics on the other forum and see what you think compared to yours (the ones I posted were the best I got from it) - and likewise Ill hjave a look at yours when they are up!!

Allright for some (having new firmware version) Charliepie - not sure on the issue now but O2 never used to upgrade the firmware on older phones - I Tried to get a nokia done a few yrs ago - but they had none of it! - Best bet probably is if its less than 28days old take it back listing one of the common faults and get an exchange (and hope the new one has the latest firmware on) - my exchange from just over a week ago has the old firmware on it!!

Shaun - do me and Khalid a favour - when you have had the phone for just over a week - send a pic message to yourself or someone u know as ours will send pic messages for the 1st week - then after a week, although we get the sent confirmation it doesnt send it to the recipient (its my 3rd phone and khalids 7th) - Im on payg so can see even from my credit it has not send despite it saying so! (credit remains same before and after)

everyone Shaun appears to have a new firmware version!! - and as mentioned on the last page Ive just changed my phone for the 3rd time (just over a week ago)but its still got the old version on the phone :((( arghhhhh

I got this phone on thursday and I haven't been able to send or receive any media/photo messages on it yet, I have to get them off the net. What do I do to enable me to view them in my media inbox? How come people aren't receiving them either? The phone is generally ok but it's a pain in the arse to text people compared to my old Nokia. Wouldn't really recommend it. :(

its been taken off the car phone warehouse and phones4u sites and has been reduced on the link, must be really bad! damn it what am i gonna get 4 xmas now? any ideas on a GOOD phone?

If you go on the 02 website you can find WAP, GPRS and MMS settings on there, for everyone in trouble.

not sure about the animations - probably not is my guess...
price is £150-£180 try ebay - loads on sale there!
camera is rubbish - only use for wallpapers and phonebook entries is my advice.
