I was wondering whether i should buy Atom or not after reading the poor opinions about the phone, then I check the website for support in seeo2.com and I saw the upgrade of rom and camera patches,Then I decided to buy it and I do ,Now after all the upgrade of ROM and camera patches ,It is working cool and fine, no much drawbacks in the phone as it was mentioned in opinions.......Sometimes it hangs but i dont mind because it is a windows mobile just like our pc hangs too....its a part of life dude...regarding the performance i give it 8/10.
Dont think too much if u like it take it ,you wont regret all u have to upgrade your ROM,which is very easy to do it.

For those of you looking to compare the Atom and Motorola A1200, I have both devices. The A1200 is a much smaller and better looking phone, it has a nicer 2.4 inch screen which is super bright. The A1200 has a more stable OS than Atom, but it runs slower at 312mhz, has less software and compatibility with other devices. The A1200 also has a cool business card ocr software. It is also much cheaper at RMB3800 vs. Atom at almost twice the price. Overall, I rate the A1200 at a much better value for money, but the Atom is what I use on a daily basis.

Gin, download xcpuscalar from www.handango.com and you will be able to run your atom at 728mhz. Have fun experimenting. My atom running at 728mhz hangs only when it goes into standby mode, otherwise it works fine. But 624mhz is probably safer.

Ben, I bought the Xcpuscalar program from handango around 2 months ago. It still have some compatibility issues with Atom. The author will hopefully fix it for the next release. Do NOT pay for it now as the CPU scaling feature does not work well, unless you want to keep it at a single frequency, i.e 624mhz, it will be fine.

Running it at 728Mhz is mostly okay on my atom, except if you put it in standby mode it will hang and never wake. 624 is perfect except it gets very hot after a while and drains battery like there is no tomorrow.

Your mileage may vary, but many atom users share my experience on overclocking, check their support website, www.wormholecreations.com and go into the xcpuscalar forum.

Patrick - Yes I have the 2GB mini SD running perfectly on my O2. It is Kingston brand and I paid RMB530 for it, around USD66. This is the largest 2G SD you can buy. They dont have anything larger. Have it about 3 weeks now, love the capacity as I can put 4-5 movies and 20 CDs worth of music and other stuff!

                                Poseidon, left one thing out.

Do not run at max of 728MHz. This will cause the system to be unstable. Run it at 624MHz should be ideal.

But no promise on the phone performance as I am still thinking of whether to buy the software. This is a third party software, therefore, there will be some form of risk involve.

Anyone who knows more technical stuff is welcome to give your construction comments.

To be honest, I rate it average. Am still checking on the overclocking software. Can find it at the following link:

                                  http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?programId=45&productId=53564

So far those feedbacks, from people who uses it, are quite positive. Solve much of the bluetooth hanging, stop the flickering on screen & perform better when playing games. The set back is it drains the battery faster than u expected. So get ready your charger.

Anyway, which phone in the market does not hang. As long the frequency is at an acceptable range.
