Realme Buds Air 2 TWS earphones pop up in Realme Link app, launch imminent

Sagar, 15 February 2021

Realme launched its first TWS earphones called Buds Air back in December 2019 and introduced the Pro variant last October. It then announced the Buds Air Pro Master Edition in December, and in an interview with us, Mr. Madhav Sheth - VP of Realme and CEO of Realme India and Europe - confirmed that the company will bring the Buds Air 2 in Q1 2021.

We are yet to hear an exact unveiling date for the Buds Air 2 from Realme, but it seems the launch isn't too far away since the Buds Air 2 have popped up in Realme Link - an app that serves as the central hub for Realme's AIoT products.

We received a screenshot of the Realme Link app from a highly reliable source, which shows the Buds Air 2 listed in the app's Add device > Audio section along with other already official Bluetooth earphones.

The listing also includes the Buds Air 2's image, revealing the TWS earphones look similar to the Buds Air Pro and will come in Black color. Although there will likely be more color options that are yet to be confirmed.

Leakster Ishan Agarwal shared an official teaser poster on Twitter last week, which revealed Realme's upcoming TWS earphones will feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

Realme has partnered with EDM pop duo The Chainsmokers for promoting the earphones, but this isn't the first time the Chinese phone maker has teamed up with a famous DJ. In 2019, Realme partnered with Alan Walker for its first neckband-style Bluetooth earphones called Buds Wireless.

Our source told us last week's leak is related to the Buds Air 2, meaning these TWS earphones will be Realme's third pair of TWS earphones after the Buds Air Pro and Buds Air Pro Master Edition to feature Active Noise Cancellation technology.

Details are scarce about the Realme Buds Air 2 right now, but thanks to FCC, we know the charging case of the TWS earphones will pack a 400 mAh battery.

We'll hopefully learn more about the Realme Buds Air 2 in the coming days.
