re:to users that say a phone camera sucks --- obviously you can't compare a phone camera with a digital camera (the phone has a smaller sensor compared with a camera one -- that's why it takes poorer quality photos - more pixels on a smaller surface).a digital camera is at least the size of a phone (and it's only for taking photos and video sometimes).the phone is for talking.if it features other stuff even better!!i would like to see yaz going somewhere and carrying a phone(a simple one-with no camera,mp3 etc...),a camera,a radio and a mp3 player-how would you manage?and then comes somebody and pulls out a phone with all those features...how would you feel?so no more stupid coments.i've been using the n73 for 2 months and it has a great camera.the macro is superb.a couple of photos saved me at 3 important tests >:) (images of the handwriting are actually very clear-depends on you writing aspect,it's size, the lighting condition).the SE takes sharper images, but the nokia has more vivid colors-the so called 'wow' effect.the samsung is totally on the outside (and thinking i wanted to buy that phone :) ). cheers

SE can top N95's 5mp camera, even S40 cybershot can beat it like a pulp.

        reason:
5mp? the lens looks so small and it has 5mp! sadly, can't even matches Sharp 903 IMO. flash is always crap in nokia, can't even used as flashlight unlike in SE. and most of all only one small LED is installed! pictures look clear using night shots in it's display, but what happens if you put it in PC screen?.

N95 is Nokia's product of desperation, but can't even beat LG Prada, Apple Iphone,ASUS P535 and HTC/O2's TyTn/Trion=D in performance and reliability!

IMHO,..those who didn't know photography very much votes N73, that's a fact cause night shots in N73 becomes bluish and colors are washed-out. details in far places looks blurred and fine details are lost especially in the edges. that's the result of nokia's desperation to make WOW-factor in the n73 image processor, to boost image noise reduction. the the grains are just fine in K800 rather than the sharp but washed-out subjects. Nokia has proven that it can't compare to even SAMSUNG in making cameras.

          my own verdict:
SE and SAMSUNG rules imaging category N73 has no place to beat the two(picture for K800 and video for D900).
          N73 rules OS category.

          but for practical people:
buying a 5mp point and shoot 3x optical zoom Kodak C-series camera and a mid-range music phone is more practical and cost alot cheaper.=D

I hate to rain on anyone's parade here, but are these samples the best photo quality cellphone's have to offer?

Utterly laughable! There's purple fringing everywhere! Dynamic range is a joke and I'm not going to get started on detail. Looks like the lens was smudged with a can of Petroleum Jelly.

You can get better quality from even the cheapest point and shoot digicam. And why shouldn't I compare these toys with a real digital camera? The marketing blurb on these things scream "megapixels" all over. Well, I've got news for you: megapixels aren't everything. Lens quality, sensor size, dynamic range, low-light sensitivity are the qualities that make a good camera. Sorry cellphone makers, it's simply isn't happening.

Better stick to making phones that double as music players.

screw sony! sony just a corporation trying to taking everything. the n73's color is much more crisp than sony's and if you still think sony's is better i hope it can top nokia's n95 which has a 5 megapixel camera.

as a person that his job is trying out new phones : N73 for video, otherwise the K800 is better in every aspect. the samsung is riddled with bugs - not an option.

First of all we must understand that we are discussing a phone overhere not a camcorder or a camera.

Basically I am a Nokia fan, this time I wanted a phone with slim & distiguished looks, but Nokia N series especially were a big disappointment with their look and size, as world is goint towads slim & sleek things, other than that I think these phones boast great features. The pics were a bit extra saturated. We all know that the software problem is there plus the size is way to big.

In the past I made a switch from Nokia 6600 to SE K500 and did not liked it plus there was the problem with the joy stick and the camera result was a big let down. K800 is good but there is nothing especial or new about its looks. The camera result is good especailly the result in the dark is excellent, but again nothing especail about its look which for me is a big NO.

If you are carrying a phone in your hand it should look good, its features does not show just by looking at it. I bought Samsung D900 and found it ok, but I wish there was radio option available in it. Pics on comparison looks foggy and drained out, which were a big disappointment for me.

All three are good phones but their price diference and their additional features put them in a separate class, each best in their respective group.

You can not compare samsung and nokia with sony ericsson... Cyber shot camera...sony audio player, what the hell do you want more? just look at the pictures, samsung is a bit with fog and nokia...looks like paintitg photos, not making photos :)) . Sony ericsson K800i is the greatest Camera, music player and phone at the moment. Zbye zbye... p.s., who buys nokia or samsung is a realy stupid person! zbye... romania i love u!!! :D

i reckon, just out of curiosity they should of taken photos with a sharp 903sh aswell. The 903sh takes amazing photos and blows a k800i out of the water from what ive seen. And this is all coming from a sony ericsson lover.

I have always supported Sony in almost everything!!!!! But now i have been disappointed with k800/k800i, Dude who are you kidding!?!!?!? alot of peopletold me k800/k800i takes better still photos....well do you know what i've got to say? the photos taken by k800/k800i SUCKED. I mean the N73 had the best pics in the comparisson page! didn't you see the more sharp and beutifully taken pics by n73 and the color-retarded ones of d900 and k800/k800i, for the first time i now think of buying a nokia over a Sony
