Yes, maybe the D900 should not be compared with the other two in terms of photos but video quality will be a different story for the D900 and I will feel sorry for the other two if compare to d900. It should be the samsung z710 is the real competitor to N70/k800 in terms of photos and do not bother regarding videos.
Anyways, samsung phones are the BENCHMARKS and the TRAILBLAZER in the mobile world, so samsung phones should be compared to any comparison.

Yes, maybe D900 should not be compared with the other two in terms of photos but i will feel pity with nokia and se when it will be compared to d900 in terms of video recording/playback. It should be the samsung Z710 will have a real competition to the other two. Anyway, samsung phones are the BENCHMARKS and the TRAILBLAZER to all phones.

as with most other people, i agree with the samsung, WHY IS IT EVEN HERE??? it doesnt come close to both phones. as for the nokia vs. the se, i personally think that i would want a clear picture(k800) than a picture that has "vivid colour" and blocky pixels(n73)....
ontop of all this, the k800 has A LENS COVER.... all the carl ziess lens in the world couldnt help it if the lens gets scratched (which it will).
and above all, nokia cannot compete with the sony ericsson interface, all nokia phones are littered with bugs and glitches. sure, feature wise it is good, but it sorta defeats the purpose when you CANT EVEN OPEN THE APPLICATION!!!!
bottom line, nokia is delicate, sony ericsson is close to perfect... and samsung should not even BE in this competition

All of nokia fans claim N73 is the best, but in the eye of a professional it isnt the truth!

The CLEAR difference between muddy plastic lenses in k800 and D900 and coated optics in the N73. That's why the N73 produces vivid, bright colors, good contrast pictures, while both tho phones produces dull blurry photos.
If you are expert, you see the CLEAR difference between Carl Zeiss glass optics and muddy plastic.

N73's colours are far too unrealistic and far too strong - also the N73 pics are too blocky, just look at the details of the trees in the samples. K800 attempts to give definition here, and has much better colour reproduction. The D900 looses slightly to both N73 and K800, but still produces some good pics.

people, have you not noticed, these sample pictures are taken by Mobilmania.cz and i am not convinced which picture of which phone, maybe they exchanged those sample picture, who knows.I have said this because I have observed that the pictures taken on a building with a zoomed effects was confusing. I noticed that the normal shot taken by nokia on the building was dark while the other two were clear, after a while when zoomed, I have noticed that picture taken by nokia became clearer while the other two became dark when zoomed. Is this normal? or it was just a joke?
people obeserve.

In this comparing of cameras only still photos have been taken and in this category for me the clear winner is N73. Yes it uses cheap tricks to make those pictures look nice, but thats all i want from a phone - point, shoot and get a nice picture.
However, in real life, most times I find myself trying to shoot some funny moving object, a car, bike... and I would really like to have a few sample pictures of objects that are moving.
And of course, then there are video clips where you can immidietly discard SE since his just not up to the task while N73 and D900 can produce very nice video.
In the end, with decent photos, great videos, MP3 player and cheap memory cards I'm almost sure I'll get D900.

Well, you shouldn't really judge which phone is better just by looking at pictures, you have to factor in a lot more other things...
For users who doesn't need huge storage room for their phone, and want a phone with very good pictures, K800 is definitely the winner. It costs about at least $100 less out the door as the $500+ Nokia N73. HOWEVER, K800 DOES NOT uses Memory Stick Pro Duo, it uses Memory Stick Micro (M2), which is max storage is @ 1GB, and cost nearly $80+ dollar to get one. If you are a MP3 fanatic, you will be very disappointed with the K800 shift toward M2. K800 would be a lot nicer if it uses the MS Pro Duo...
For users with a nice all-around phone, with cheap storage, and good camera, and don't care about inital cost, N73 is definitely the win. As nokia's OS has a history of compatibility, user-friendly, and widely-supported, it's definitly more fun to play with. The initial cost of the Nokia as the time of this writing is about $100 more than the K800i, however, it uses MiniSD, WHICH MEANS VERY CHEAP storage, as the 2gb version can be obtained at less than 70, probably at around 55-60.
Both of the phones have different interface, if you never used both, you shoulnd't bash one or the other. When you get familiar with one, it's naturally "better" because you KNOW it... so in the Overall rating(combined functionality, camera, prcie, upgradability, etc,), the N73, and the K800 should be the same, the camera shoulnd't be your deciding factor for the phone, you need to consider the overall functions of the phone. Any $150 digicam (well 4megapixel +) will perform better than these 2 phone in taking pictures so yea... for me, I am probably getting the N73 because of the cheap memory :p. Don't take me as a nokia fan... I have the SE V800SE for a while now, it was a superb 3G phone, and I have 2x 2GB MS Pro Duo... sadly K800 dont' use it...
As for the D900, shoulnd't even be in this lol.. it's totally outclassed.

have you seen the size of the k800? its not such a small phone. it have the size of a smartphone. the n73 have the same size and its even thinner! its a smartphone, its quadband EDGE and 3g in the same pack, its not split like the k800/k790. and also the n73 takes better pictures, you don't have to edit them in photoshop to get good results!
you can't edit ppt, excel, word, documents in your k800, or play a Xvid Movie at a VGA resolution with TV - OUT.
overall the n73 its bettter not only in the camera

Lol, lule, buy a J200. Then you don´t have to think about slow menus or some insignificant price thing. Some people like toys, buy a SE, not the P-series though. If you think the N80 is not worth the price, then you clearly don´t know how to use it.

i was talking aboat the cameras!!!!!some people dont like smart phones, because the are 10 times slower than regular ones, there arent many applications for symbian 9.1,so the os is useless,,,,,,,,,when you buy a noki phone you pay 50 of the price for the actual worth of the unit, and the othel half for the nokia name,so you can tell your friends that you have sold your motorbike, because of nokia n93,or n73 for ezample....say its not true.....think aboat it,,,,i have n80 and i think its not worth half the money i have payed for it

Your mad, the N73 is a symbian phone which puts it in a completely higher leage to the K800. Sony make digital cameras so you would expect it to be better... i work selling phones and the N73 is blinding, the camera is fantastic.

this isnt going anywhere, someone says k800 is better, someone 73 is.realy do you need to argue aboat tiny diferences,we arent talking aboat cars......the quality of the pictures on both k800 and n73 will probably get better with future firmware updates,so i think there will be another test
