You know, for all the advancements, it bemuses me as to why no windows phone will provide the user with a basic choice of keyboards. Eg: alphanumeric key pad for messaging. Not everyone wants to push and tap every single minuscule letter. Alpha numeric is much larger by nature and is very fast at messaging. Please do include this, then maybe we could buy.

I'm confused as to why people are surprised by the mediocre reviews. 3 star is the general average I've seen and quite generous.
If the phone has poor battery life, performance, limited access to a good app store of any kind and fares badly compared in terms of price and features compared to a budget Nokia Lumia, why would the reviewers be full of praise?
I get it that some people are defensive and brand loyal but you have to be objective when reviewing consumer products.
With the devices available on the market, from Nokia included, this phone makes almost no sense.

i read a lot of comment bout this phone. and for the 1st time, i didnt agree with gsmarena reviews. heres my opinion. a lot of u guys complaining bout this is not a pure android.. the performances is low etc bla bla bla..
but u didnt know unless u try it for urself and spend times to get to know it. i alreadyown X, and let me tell ya, it is absolutely amazing phone. it might be true it is not as great as the android phone, but.. when u compare the price and the functionality of the phone, then u'll kno it is a buck of ur bank.seriously, i owned a high end devices b4, most of them are the S lineup, from the 1st S until the recent N3,got others brand as well but mostly sammys flagship phone.what i can say is that the performances is good overall, less lag, smooth gaming , ( Raging Thunder,Vector, Overkill,Asphalt,Ironman, Captain America,Temple Run 2,Frontline Commando) i mean a heavy games that can make ur phone lag and stuck for a moment.,but the X handle it smoothly. The games that i mention above is not ur typical average games, those are games that required a high spec ,so that u phone can play it smoothly without lag,and trust me the X handle it quite nice.for me the stats bout performances that Gsmarena showed is just on paper , the real deal is that , when u personally used and experince the phone urself, dont believe me?? try to play and download one of those games that i mentioned into ur phone,and please take note, im not asking the high end spec categories phone, but a mid range and low end spec phone that operating Android OS's..get what i mean? phone like Samsung Ace, lenovo, acer, etc any android phone with any brands with this kinda price range 99$/RM400 ..
Then you will notice what a huge differences it is.
For me , Nokia has optimized the phone performances to suit nowdays everyday usage.
The camera is ok, the sound is loud. the graphic is awsome,
theres only one thing that i kinda frustrated, the speed of the internet is not as fast as i expected, but it get the job done most of the time,it just that a 2 second delay may make u angry, but afer getting used to it, then u will started to like the phone.
And also the sharing functionality during playing a songs is also one of the things that i hoped nokia improved.oh yeah, i already installed Google Maps , and it just working perfectly..
well That is just my compalaint. Other than that, this phone was FUCKING AwsoME!!
btw, if u cant find the games that i mentioned above,
try to use 1Mobile apps. It is almost identical to PLaystore. hope my comments helped u in ur quest for searching the right phone for you.. :)

pointless exercise, look like windows, if you want android put Vanilla version. don't dress it up. this wont save nokia.

Nokia wants to experiment Android market with its mobile phones and all it wants to risk there is a below par Hardware that it doesnt care if it fails. Ofcourse its going to fail. Stupid Dumbasses at Nokia. MOST if not all of them.

Used Nokia from 1996 got Sony experia on android present 2011 thought it was brilliant lost it last year.got Nokia wp8 3network i buy £15 all u can eat data every mth.and will never go back to android again

What are you expecting from a snapdragon S4 play that is a dual core 1 GHz cortex-A5 CPU. This S4 play CPU came out the beginning of 2012. Also it has a very slow GPU, its an adreno 203. Definitely bottom of the barrel as far as CPU/GPU. Not to mention the display is a really poor display (800x480) with no gorilla glass or protection what so ever. Forget the cameras, well it only has a 3mp rear camera with no camera flash. What is Nokia thinking. I mean how much does a camera flash cost ($1-2 at most).
The worst is Microsoft using the Android name, and it has no Google apps or services. What's wrong with your WP OS Microsoft.
