11 June 2014
There haven’t really been sparks flying between Sony and HTC. It doesn’t look like a rivalry capable of producing the kind of ripples one would expect of a clash involving Samsung and Apple, or LG and Samsung. Yet, HTC and Sony have been...

AnonD-265341, 12 Jun 2014Z2 is much better choice. Only the screen and front speaker... moreThe audio output is a bit worse than on M8. That and the durability of the glass on the Z2 makes me wonder if I should get the M8 instead of it.

Z2 is much better choice. Only the screen and front speakers is a fight. Other than that, z2 hands down.

I try both and M8 is perform far smoother and better than Z2.

My final decision pick M8 and no regret at all. :)

Please do not list 4K video recording as an advantage!

Everybody knows that, including Sony itself, 4K video is no more than a commercial selling point. Sony has just declared that snapping 4K video more than 4 min is not advised! The processors will heat and close the phone.

Even if its not the case, how can you store those videos if you capture a 15min video??? It could be up to 5GB itself!

And with which gear you're gonna watch? With a tiny 1080p phone screen or a standard 1080p television?

                    So please stop 4K bullshit.

Built quality is a very valid reason to choose a smartphone.. But when back opens and battery drops out of phone there isn't any permanent damage of the phone and has nothing to do with quality. S3 and S4 had bad built quality but s5 is built very well regardles of the materials used. If I could choose I would always prefer user replacable battery but it is not a must have either.

So these two phones that have GOOD build quality tie against each other, yet the HTC One M8 ties with the Galaxy S 5?

Have been an HTC user for many years but recently switched to sony purely because of the superior 20 meg camera which I wanted to use instead of a stand alone snapper. Must say the results are brilliant but it is such as shame htc Didn't use a higher resolution single lense with the m8 as it would have ticked all boxes and left little room for complaint. Both phones are excellent so long may htc and sony keep pushing the specs up to keep us the consumers happy
