the G3 display is a joke, its dim, its brightness and sunlight visibility a joke, view angles suck too! i prefer super amoled with lower resolution anyday to the crap display lg puts out.. they have a long way before their displays come even close to what samsung does on their flagships..

Besides this was a 'vs' and the G3 does have a better screen than the S5, not just because of the resolution.

No matter what the disadvantages of AMOLED be no IPS beats it in contrast and sunlight legibility. Plus Samsung has given the S5 a minimum brightness of 2 nits which is like great while the competition is at 10 for G3 and 16 for M8.
Anyway I'd say that G3 won't be able to sell much for a simple reason. Business strategy. Tactics will never beat strategy. Samsung will release Note 4 and if rumours be true then it'd be 5.7 and the bezels all around will be lesser. So what would you choose a 5.5 qHD with a 5.7 qHD but with a better processor fingerprint sensor and yadiyadiyada...
Personally I'm waiting for the new Moto... nothing beats the ergonomic design of the X and nothing beats the ebony back panel ^_^

Sorry GSMArena, but your view on the LG G3 screen being better than the S5's is a bit off.
The pixel density and size alone don't make the G3's screen a great one. That sounds a lot like the reviewers personal opinion and preference towards size and wow factor.
The temperature on the G3's screen is too cold, it is quite dim and the Contrast is nowhere near as good as some of the top 1080P screens, let alone the AMOLED of the S5.
Higher Pixel densities don't always equate to better screen and overall viewing experiences.

AnonD-207990, 19 Jun 2014You said it all bro...saved my time..:) Am really laughing ... moreOnly problem is that this isn't 1080p vs 1440p, as the samsung doesn't really have a 1080p display. It's a pentile, meaning it needs 50 % more sub pixels to be a proper 1080p display - that's quite significant. And the IPS screen of the LG much better displays the sRGB color space, which is the standard color profile used everywhere.

AnonD-239468, 19 Jun 2014o.O Best looking UI, unfortunately that goes to Sense 6 and... moreComing from a guy who rocked a nexus 4 and now uses a G2 which has a Sense 6 rom that I tried and as a sense lover... I must say that G3's UI indeed looks better. Stock looks bad. Never was a fan of it, it has nothing special. Sense looks gorgeous, but LG takes HTC's design philosophy and rises the bar even higher, adding all non-gimmick Samsung features and a few unique ones.
Yes, they may be copying, but they are offering the best of both worlds with a few LG add-ons: Better than sense looks, better than Samsung functionality.
Oh, and BTW. I actually tried all the 4 UIs you named on my personal phones, so I trust my opinion is a bit more trustworthy than of one who didn't.

Smartphone choice is highly subjective. In some geographies factors like after sales support play a key role in decision making irrespective of the mind blowing spec sheet. In my market here in India, based on my user experience with other smartphones as well as by general feedback am going for LG G3. Am not a heavy user so overheating & battery lasting a day are not my concerns. Mine are for Multimedia & gaming. that too on a moderate usage context. So all in all. my choice has been frozen. its LG G3.
