Meizu MX4 Pro review: Sharpened up

13 January 2015
Pro in a smartphone’s name implies bigger and better – so much so that it’s even been abused to fool the unsuspecting. Meizu did not resort to such trickery though and their MX4 Pro takes things up more than just a notch from the stock version...

Sometimes those chinese companies baffle me. This company just released a phone much worse than its predecessor.

Worse resolution (there is no difference between 4xx PPI and 5xx PPI, only more battery, ram and cpu cycles consumption)
Far Worse battery (30% less)
Worse Body to Screen Ratio (worse ergonomy, less useful device)
Worse SoC (2.2Ghz of MX4 >> 1.8GHz of MX4 pro)

Pretty much all around mess. A lot may be told for those chinese companies, but the sheer entertainment factor coming from their all around wackiness can never be overstated.

Meizu MX4 design was released before the iphone 6. Its the other way around, Apple has shamely copied Meizu and HTC one M8 design and lines. Apple needs to be sued.

You would think that a company who can put out a phone with great specs could come up with a better design. An ugly ugly phone.

If I was in market for a smartphone this would probably be one that I would consider. VERY good overall phone. Would have to wait and see the New HTC, Z4, and S6 first but I am sure the price of those would be much higher. To bad these phones find themselfs in the EU market when they are allready outdated.

JD, 13 Jan 2015II really hope this blatant copycat Meizu will endup in cou... moreDude seriously? If anyone's copying here, its Apple. Meizu released the Meizu MX4 before the IPhone 6 and 6+ and it had the same design as the Meizu MX4 Pro. So honestly Apple's been copying here. And its not only that. Meizu's designs have been shaped like this from the start with stainless steel being used in them (way before apple did). And you now what? The Aluminum 6061-T6 alloy in the Meizu device is way more stronger than the 6005 alloy used in the new Iphones. Heck even the stainless steel used in previous Meizu devices and on the home button of their MX4 series is stronger than the stainless steel grades used by Apple in their devices. The best part? Apple devices bend, Meizu devices don't.

If it had a SD card slot, it would be damn near perfect even when it's not plastic. Very nice audio output results.

II really hope this blatant copycat Meizu will endup in court and get smashed by Apple!!! Samsung loves to copy but Meizu is on a whole new level! Is this phone is even legal in US and EU?
