Samsung Galaxy S6 review: Subject Zero

Choose one word to describe the Samsung Galaxy S6. Gorgeous. Powerful. Special. Different. Thank you. That will do. Galaxy S5 has only one of these under its belt and hint... it starts with a P.

The ufs 2.0 memory is faster compared to micro sd. Also with fast charging and wireless charging there is no need for removable battery. I don't use my Note 4 for storage where i need high speed access (ie QHD videos). I use it for storing large amounts of data such as movies, maps etc which can quickly be swapped out if need be. (1 set of layered topo maps for NSW are 60GB)

The point of a removable battery is for times you don't have access to mains power (when quick charging and wireless charging won't help). Not everyone spends their life within 5 minute of a power point.

Samsung is removing key features (micro sd, removable battery, IP) and taking customers for fools (aka apple).

DON'T DO THE SAME TO THE NOTE 5 SAMSUNG!

Fact number two might want to look at note 3 and note 4. Note 4 had much better battery life compared with note 3, despite increase in resolution.

Also UFS 2.0 emory and exynos 7420 are very energy efficient. I have provided the facts which are 100% correct. If you did some research you can find the reports i mentioned above. Thus S6 is the perfect device. You're more than welcome to use your invalid ideas to argue.

You may be right however I think will sell well because ppl like "shiny" things. It also supposedly has very good hand feel, which has been a turn off for me from Samsung for the s4 s5 and note 4. My gf is diehard apple and knows nothing about the specs but this is the first android phone that has her saying she wants it and might switch from apple. There are more PPP like that then die hard techys

there is a guy on youtube that works for samsung and he unboxes the s6 . he is a sales guy and he is in training to learn about the s6 features so he can demonstrate to the customer and in the comments he gets a lot of requests for a battery test and this was his reply .......... Unfortunately I was told on the 12th of march to avoid battery testing because I have a 'training device' and there will be new updated software on the retail version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 upon its release (April 10th in the UK). Therefore any tests I do wouldn't be a true reflection of the device. Everything else on the phone I should be able to test in full.

It looks like smartphone for an old, fat lady. I don't like the look of the metal frame. Design wise, i'm still inlove with the xperia z1. The metal frame was fantastic. its like mobile phone for james bond or batman. Lol

So, in short, enlighten me, what exactly makes amoled screen of s6 different and 20% more energy efficient compared to amoled screen of s5?

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2015I'm actually shocked at the battery life. By all accounts i... moreMore efficient display? Are you out of your mind? It has way higher pixel density which means it consumes more power, you need more light to make it look just as bright as a display with less pixel density. And then you also have to take additional processing needed into account but I guess the more efficient SoC will compensate it. But the higher consumption of the display itself still remains.

The PPI race is the cancer that is killing battery life. There will be no difference to the human eye under normal conditions compared to 440ppi. We need the subhumans to buy phones like this though because we need higher PPI screens for virtual reality.

I really don't want to sound arrogant, and am really not, but this S6 has surprisingly disappointed more than S5 did last year. The upgrade formula was very simple, but Samsung clearly went the easy way this time, putting more brains and less heart into it. I see "business perspective" everywhere in this device. It was very easy to upgrade on Galaxy S5 if Samsung had done it in 2 simple steps.
                                  1. Keep the best features of your previous model intact (don't even think about replacing them, HTC's omitting OIS from M8 ios a clear example) .
                                  2. Listen to your consumers' complaints and try to solve them. Don't be too arrogant by putting your personal ideas into it which are VERY VERY useless for the general customer.
But Samsung has really disappointed me this time. In no way is it a bad phone, NOOO!, I am definitely not calling it a bad phone, but it isn't a worthy successor either except for design overhaul and some other additions here and there ( which are by no means unachievable for the 2 upcoming flagships from Sony and LG).

                                    Pros
                                    Better aesthetics and hardware.
                                    Cons
No microsd, No removable battery, less battery life.

Really, just get a LG G2 for less but with the same functionality.

First I never said I was buying the 64Gb so idk where you got that from. Second, let's look at the facts here Mr. grumpy pants. If its going to flunk why do we have the Norwegian carrier reporting 4x the # of preorders that the gs5 received. Why do we have carrier preordering 20 million? In the GS5 first 3 months it only sold 12 million! So before normal consumers can even buy it Samsung is beating last years numbers and their own conservative projection of 13 million units. I wish I knew you in person because I'd love to take this bet. $1000 would be a fair bet. Let's shake on it. ;) Hopefully you're not this angry in every day life.... Cheer up mate. Its just a phone, but damn look at the facts and stop being so ignorant.

Most android users ready to cash out that kind of money for a flagship do care about tech solutions you mentioned and watch reviews on sites like these
Samsung is android, and aims at different type of users with big cash, those that think more about cost benefit of what they buy...

So some diehard samsung fans will buy it, a percentage of design oriented buyers who dont know crap or care about what is under the hood will buy it...and that is it.
Most powerusers that think about value for their money will not buy it...

You must really be stupid to cash out that kind of money for the 64gb variant, which only is viable for its features like big heavy graphic games, 4k video recordings etc...
Some users dont play games or record 4k, but then...why would they buy this phone if same features they need come in other much better cost benefit phone models?
