Samsung Galaxy S6 review: Subject Zero

13 March 2015
Choose one word to describe the Samsung Galaxy S6. Gorgeous. Powerful. Special. Different. Thank you. That will do. Galaxy S5 has only one of these under its belt and hint... it starts with a P.

Anonymous, 12 Jun 2015GSMA please compare iP 6 and SGS6.OK. IPhone crashes more, costs more, doesn't do everything as fast, maybe focuses a tad faster, has a much weaker screen and cheaper older parts, has memory issues on the larger gig versions, and less battery life and charges a lot slower.
Even the fingerprint scanner is not quite as good.
And not as quit as loud out clean speaker audio and much weaker headphone audio.

And of course can't even come close to the functions of Touchwiz.

So... after waiting quite a while, the Topaz Blue version was finally launched in Denmark and I received mine today. Wauw, what a let down... I can't believe no reviews has given this more detail! The fact that there is a huge material a color difference between the blue on most of the phone in comparison to the home button and metal around the camera. It's 3 distincly different materials and colors and especially the home button looks god awful. It's much much darker and way more bland blue. It's such an eyesore that tomorrow the phone is being returned and I'll go with the white instead. I can't believe that such a beautiful device would have such an enormous error stairing you in the face every time you use the phone :-(

Why oh why did GSMArena not warn me? I waited all this time for nothing :-(

S6, or how to conform into planned obsolescence and an inefficient design in the search for more profit.

Too bad, the screen is a gem, but...

No Sd card, no extended battery option, no sale.

And no it is not easy for most people to remove the glass back. And then reseal it either.

You know darn well it isn't a waterproof phone then you expose it to the elements, you only have yourself to blame.

Just like a car is not a boat and if you drive it into the river hoping it will float and propel like a boat is foolish.

People who bring out non-waterproof phones should bring a few zip bags in case it rains one can zip it up in a Ziploc bag to keep out water.

the only i hate in samsung's design is the physical power button. i hope they will make it capacitive in their next flagship.

Mine is working perfectly, i use it quite heavy during the day and have 35% batteri left at the end of the day also i dont see the real issue with the batteri removal, never had the need for it SD slot was a decent feature however i have never even filled the 16Gb on my other phones, all my pictures are stored on cloud services.

By all means, don't get the Galaxy S6. It is perhaps the least waterproof phone ever made. I can report painful experience... even the dampness to which it was exposed, carried in a case in a backpack on a rainy day under an umbrella, was enough to do it in. And neither AT&T nor Samsung will do nothing (nothing) about it. So the S6 Active presumably will be as rugged as an ordinary cell phone... the S6 itself is no more rugged around water than a pack of sugar...

B, 20 Apr 2015Too bad they did not inclued a microSD card and a removable... moreMost people don't care about the microSD card and even less people care about the removable battery. Besides, you can remove it pretty easily once it wears out in a couple years. You can remove it with household items and zero experience, so I don't see it as a big deal. And yeah I would like to have a microSD card but I'd rather have actual 64GB and 128GB of fully usable (since you can't ACTUALLY move apps to microSD without root + FolderMount) and FAST storage options in my country (it was hard to find a 32GB Samsung here, usually only 16GB versions available whenever I'd buy one. The 64GB versions never made it to America).

Samsung is willing to sacrifice the 5% of customers scared off by lack of those 2 features to gain the 10% of iPhone customers that they'll be attracting.

AnonD-384804, 10 Apr 2015The design is nice but its a couple of steps backwards. 1.... moreIt won't just pop off. It's just like the glass on the front of phones, same adhesive and same concept. Do you see the glass just popping off of phones when someone leaves them in a warm location, like you suggest? I'm pretty sure we'd hear about it if that did happen.
