If we just focus on the M7, M8 camera 4MP ultrapix they raved on foolishly saying MP wasn't anything but the pictures when zoomed in were horrible and then the pink hue in dark scenes emerged as a total failure with this 4MP ultrapix.
Then they wait for one year to announce the M9 and you would think they would have researched for a better camera in their budget with M7 and M8 but no........ they instead go to Sony and get their camera and stick it in the M9 and voila what do we have now crap camera. Check verge review of comparison between M9 camera and iphone....pathetic..
Adios HTC it was nice whilst it lasted and yes the HD2 was my fav phone ever.. shame you couldn't go further with it.. :(

Nothing to sure about the S6, though I'm willing to bet it's smoother than the M9.

Qualcomm, you killed HTC...The rather average battery is my biggest let down because I was expecting a big improvement over M8. This poor result is not because of HTC's faulty software but due to lousy processor...I see no way to repair the damage done without affecting the overall performance. Samsung was not crazy skipping 810 for their flagships...I will still stick to my M7&M8, unfortunately...

However, I have a strong feeling it'll improve in the final version. Look at what David Ruddock said:
"Every Galaxy S6 review out there right now is based on Korean variants of the phone. They don't have the right modem in that device."

If Samsung placed their own modem, which is worse than Qualcomm's modem, inside their review units, it will significantly drop battery life results.
I expect battery life figures to exceed the S5 with this revelation.

Hmm, which one should I pick, this or Galaxy Note 4?
The answer would be much simpler if Samsung got rid of that terrible TouchWiz and stuck to 1080p. But that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon. Too bad, as I really like the S-Pen, AMOLED screens and I hear the camera with OIS is pretty good as well.
S6 is not interesting for me, it has nothing special worthy of struggling with the TouchWiz abomination.
On the other hand, with HTC M9 we have a beautifull build, unmatched audio quality and elegant, silky-smooth interface.
That really is a tough choice.

I really thought because HTC is using a smaller FHD screen and a bigger battery that it will have a longer endurance. Guess 810 is a battery killer. Look at G Flex 2. Glad Samsung switched. Curious to see what results Huawei's Kirin 930 with 2600mAh will produce in the P8.

GSMARENA, YOU SAID: "There are only a few smartphones louder than the M9 in the whole history of the industry". WICH ARE THOSE "FEW" SMARPHONES LOUDER THAN M8 OR M9 ?????? NAME THEM !! Personally i know only one: Nokia N91 and maybe Samsung Serenta for Bang & Olufsen, but with this last one i am not sure anymore. So those "few" smartphones louder than M9 are in fact just only one: Nokia n91. Of course i am talking here only about the loudness of the headphones output, not the speakers....

They arrogantly stuck to their ultra pixel tech main cameras despite the barrage of criticism. They flooded the market with so many variants of basically the same product in the name of market differentiation that they ended up competing against themselves. In Asia, they left the best for last (Butterfly) and left early buyers wondering if they had been had. Little wonder their phones have no resale value. With the up and coming Chinese OEMs, and the main players, HTC will find themselves caught between a rock and a hard place, if not already.

Well i guess i made the right choice to skip on this generations HTC Flagship device after 5 years. Had previously The Desire, HTC Sensation XE, Htc One x, Htc one and last generations HTC One M8. Apart from the impressive Audio and The much Improved camera this seemed to have gotten worse in every other department.

Samsung worked hard and invested ... moreSamsung is so far ahead of their competition in component technology that most companies would still use 3-5 year-old Samsung component tech than their rival's latest component tech.
It gives Samsung a very dominant position in the supply chain, as they can single-handedly determine quality of their competitors' products.

Samsung worked hard and invested in building their own components. Even parts of HTC like the internal memory storage is built by Samsung. Should Samsung just give all their information away? Have other companies start building there own things. I am looking at you, Apple.
If Samsung is like songwriter,should they ghost write for everyone? Let them build THEIR OWN. Simple as that.

Just look at how Nokia, Motorola, and a lot of other OEMs are using old Samsung's AMOLED tech while Samsung keeps the latest and greatest to themselves.
It's one of the biggest advantages that Samsung has.

it's much heavier, thicker,
with the half the resolution
and still has worse battery life
while taking twice as long to fully charge.

I actually want to see HTC succeed. I just feel they didn't bring their "A" game this year. They just added the Snapdragon 8l0, added scratch resistant on the surface & lens, and increases MP and called it a day. The tougher surface might be cool but it won't matter since nobody really buys HTC phones no matter how well it is taken care of. Resell value is horrendous and nobody wants to be stuck with average battery which will get worse over time and no swappable battery in sight.
For the Asian market, wait for the next Butterfly phone. Maybe HTC will finally get all three basics right. Screen is great. Cam is getting better but nothing that will blow you away. Battery is back to awful.

This is a rather huge disappointment for a smartphone release circa 2015.
If HTC thought just doing some minor software and hardware upgrades and implement a failed chip (QC 810) by down clocking (confirmed with Antutu scores before and after the sw patch) would make for a premium smartphone then they have failed miserably.
This will not sell well and I gather that is why HTC CEO Chou has recently stepped down.
Look to 2016 HTC with a fresh new design and new hardware.

Well in the pocketnow review the reviewer says he did not face any overheating issues at all...playing asphalt 8 and sky gamblers two very intensive games for half an hour each took the phone to 101.3 F which is roughly 38.5C which is significantly lower than what the post showed about the thermal heating
. Which showed 55C..i suggest check out other reviews about the m9..
