LG G4 review: Sharp and shooter

22 May 2015
Flagships get better with every generation but some of last year’s are as good as reborn. The LG G4 improves on the three best features of its predecessor: design, screen, the camera – and does so decisively. It adopts a G Flex curve, but makes...

I really dont have much a background with LG phones, I bought my kids a G2 awhile back when the G3 was coming out and has been great, they have gotten recent Android updates in a timely manner. But as far as Samsung, they are horrible at getting Android updates. I have a Tab S 8.4 that still has 4.4.2, my wifes Note 3 just got the Android 5.0.2 update, hell , my HTC One M7 has had 5.0.2 for awhile now. So I have to disagree with anyone saying Samsung because they update their devices, thats wrong

So by that logic when you say others are crying what you actually meant is that you are. I see what you did there

i bet your going to cry if you wish to purchase S6. the battery of S6 is really very poor.in one day u have to charged atleast twice if ur a moderate user.G4 has also has it own cons mainly on its software. but overall when u purchaese G4 it gives u a unique look.camera classy, battery option + sd card i think its a complete package for every body.

Anonymous, 25 May 2015g4 is better than note4 smoother and faster performance b... moreNot.
First off the performance of G4 is only a little better and only compared to the Snapdragon Note 4. The Exynos one will have a lead in some ways and better audio output.

And the Note 4 camera will be at least as good if not better in daylight, similar in room shots, better at video and audio.
The G4 is better at some room shots and better at night shots.

Plus the Note 4 has better battery life, also supports quick charge and confess with an adaptive charger, comes with headphones for its equal or better audio output, better display, spen, more advanced software, Samsung gives more updates, more theming and more to come.

Besides a few nitpicks that I have since then fixed and the early battery life that's been improved a lot with the latest firmwares, I don't have any issue with my S6.

I've never had to change my battery in the nearly 5 years I've owned a smartphone. And the microSD card isn't that big of a deal since I've never needed anything more than 32GB of storage. There are those who legitimately feel these two things are deal breakers. And there are those who don't. Like I said, it is relative.

I shouldn't have to spend extra for batteries and power-related accessories when there are smartphones out there that have better screens, faster processors, and greater utility all with a single-battery life of almost twice what the G4 can muster. In this department, the G4 definitely disappoints.

And its chipset is subpar if you look at it in its totality. Of all 2015 flagships so far, the G4 is a flop for me. I wouldn't buy an S6 (maybe Edge), but I'd definitely consider it head and shoulders above this LG letdown.

Not wanting to replace your phone after a year or carrying a spare battery (Or using an extended one) are the main reasons, although easy and 100% certain restart when necessary is also important, yes. Plus, privacy (The phone can spy on you even turned off, if the battery is there).

I agree with the guy as it happens as the only rare occasion I have had to remove the battery on my S4 was it had frozen. Quick in and out of the battery and fixed.

LG phone looking good but not a patch on the GS6/Edge.
