LG G4 review: Sharp and shooter

22 May 2015
Flagships get better with every generation but some of last year’s are as good as reborn. The LG G4 improves on the three best features of its predecessor: design, screen, the camera – and does so decisively. It adopts a G Flex curve, but makes...

So, is the LG G4 going to suck with headphone playback? I'm moving from iPhone to possibly this phone. I use Shure 215's.

      Thanks.

AnonD-405515, 12 Jun 2015Don't listen to these whack-jobs blabbering about the batt ... moreYeah call everyone whack jobs because they know what they are talking about and you don't.

For the size battery the G4 has it should have better battery life. Especially standby. Just because it needs to be better and is worse than others doesn't mean it is actually terrible.

And even worse the G3 grew in height and width with the same size battery. The G4 grew in height, width, and to almost 10mm thick.
For a mainstream flagship device on 2015 that is practically phablet sized with 5.5 inch display 3000mah flat out unacceptable for 9.8mm

And if they had used DD4 ram like everyone else and for the price they are charging it would have made a bit of difference in performance and battery life.

Don't listen to these whack-jobs blabbering about the batt life of the G4 when they themselves don't own one. I own the dual-sim version of the G4 (3000mAh) and it gets at par if not better than my Note 2 (3100mAh). At the end of the day under normal use (message, short calls, browsing, IG, etc.) it still has 40%-50%++ which is impressive by any means. Under heavy use (all mentioned before, gps, spotify, emails, syncing, etc.) it will still get you 20%-30%++. One thing I should note is that I do not play games on my G4, not a single game is installed. I am also very wary of my LCD brightness as this helps a lot because the G4 isn't amoled like my Note 2 which I can just turn everything black. Overall being a dual-sim phone that has both micro sims active all the time, I couldn't ask for more.

But the S6 has much much better recorded audio than the G4 and most other devices.

Ive been a samsung user since 1990's and loyal for more than a decade until ive become a heavy user and consider myself a phone addict. I bought many samsung phones every now and then just to sustain my needs but i fail so i try Lg when my hacker friend told me its great. And yes, its awesome! I bought for their latest phone and finally from battery, display, capacity to cater my fucking addiction, Lg gives me a total satisfaction. I can do games and internet browsing for longer period now without any more hastle problems compare before and the durability of my phone is great!!:) thanks to Lg.

Question for the reviewer or anyone else. I have a nokia 808. finally moving to either the G4 or the S6. It's all about the camera for me, but there is also one feature the nokia has that I can't find out if the G4 or S6 also have as a feature. The microphone on the 808 virtually can't be blown out. At concerts, I get crystal clear sound while others get distortion. The review has good audio quality information, but does not mention the microphone. Does anyone know if the G4 or S6 have a similar mic to the 808. Further, anyone tested the frequency response of both mics?

Just bought one. I found the battery last much longer than both S6 and m9+ or even the note4. The camera is better than those too. Really wonder why GSMA found the battery is weaker than them.

G4 is near the perfecttion, I like it.
The only flaw: why does G4 eat so much battery energy?

I'd never buy LG phone again. Very dissapointed with G2 delay lolipop update, just because the G3 just been launched. The resale value also very bad, less than a half of the price in just one year? The battery is getting worse than G2 and still no IP grade but push the screen resolution where we don't care less.
