Apple iPhone 6s Plus vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+: Double positive

15 October, 2015
3D Touch or curved Edge screen? Metal or glass? LCD or AMOLED? iOS or Android? Speed and silky-smooth response or heavy-duty multitasking? These are the questions and no one’s got better answers than you. And if the answers consistently put you on this or that side of the line, you know all there is to know.

You made the false claim that sales equals a no contest win in response to a factual claim that the S6 won objectively.
And I called you out for that.

Obviously people do that. But that's simply not the case for most people here. The S6 Edge plus simply had an objectively dramatically larger Edge here.
And in defense to the Edge the ihpone takes an unnatural color cast to many photos and skin tones. So you can't really say that a little saturation or something like that counts against the S6 and not the iphone. Espeically when the S6 has truer manual controls

Anonymous, 18 Oct 2015Lol. Cute attempt. But horrible fail. A few problems. iP... moreJust curious, why do you think I fail, for speaking from my own experience?

I have both the Note 5 and the iPhone 6+ and I am getting an iPhone 6S+ from work as well to replace the 6+. I also had the S6 Edge before the Note 5 came out and by the end, I strongly disliked the Edge and had gone to using the iPhone 6+ exclusively.

I like the Note 5 a lot better. All I am saying is that the iPhone 6+ is a really well balanced phone as far as overall user-experience goes and honestly, if I had to give one or the other up, probably the Note 5 will go. I have had enough time with the iPhone 6S+ to know that I like it a lot.

For me the camera choice is a toss up. I like the camera on the Note 5 very much, but I also like my iPhone 6+ photos a lot. The Note 5 has better detail in low light but it also opens everything up in an unnatural way, which is what some of the Edge+ shots here showed too. The iPhone 6+ can get grainy, but the 6S+ improve a lot on it and it gets it right more often that the Note 5.

It looks like a lot of people blindly defend whatever they bought, looking for anything on the web to support their bias and to thrash people who have chosen a competing product. Stupid.

Why do reviewers not realize that most of the people use their camera to take photos of themselves or other human beings, and the said human beings do NOT prefer more "resolved details"..

Photos from an iPhone are more or less ready to share as the fine detail is not resolved and hence most of the skin blemishes are already faded out producing a high quality photo.
I have acne scars on my face and none of the photos taken by my Galaxy S5 were worth sharing without heavy photoshop work first while my iPhone 5S took photos flawlessly. There were a few traces but most of the photos taken were not overblown or too dark or too "detailed".. I could just share them right away.

There is a reason people prefer an iPhone's camera. If someone is into taking photos of nature and buildings and birds and scenery and such and prefers absolute details, they would probably prefer a DSLR or a digital camera at first place, not their phone. iPhone usually takes a photo with moderate amount of detail, so without zooming, it comes out perfect, neither too unnecessarily detailed, nor blurred by any means, basically being a perfect all rounder for all purposes practical. Afterall synthetic pixel peeping matters for lab testers and nerds only. A common man would want his camera to perform to his needs.. And I sold that iPhone a while ago because of its terrible interface.. God I hate iOS but that camera was really good.. I might buy a 6S or something for that..

A few problems. iPhone is the only iOS phone option. For Android there endless other choices besides the S6 Edge Plus. Flawed comparison of sales.

That does not negate the fact that the S6 mopped the floor with the iPhone in these tests no matter how much you try and make it.

If sales alone told the whole story that would make over popularized, trashy, barely talented singers with auto tune the most talented people in music.

                      You fail.

The simple fact that I can have full manual control over my images taken with one of the phones makes one superior and definitely not a"tie". The screen which is what I see every second i use the phone is must important. I used both in store and the QHD screen was moved better to look at photos and video ad I was even able to change the color saturation to my taste on the Edge plus. The apple 6s phone is great but no match for this galaxy phone. If I am a brand centric consumer I may have preference for the iPhone for loyalty alone but not quality in this case.

How can the higher number of sales help make your iPhone better? Can it, for example, help make your iPhone show infinite contrast on its display? Or maybe suddenly make it take better pictures and have better audio output? Or probably prolong its talktime? Or maybe the higher sales number can help make your iPhone have smaller bezels, a bigger display, a bit less slippery and lighter in weight? Can it? Please tell me, can it?? No? I didn't think it can, also. :)

Wow! I didn't think that Apple would lose that miserably! And even the battery life goes in favor of the Edge+. That extra stand by time should be no where comparable to the twice of 3G calling time of the Edge+! So GSMA, it definitely is NOT a tie on the battery department. So the final score is actually 12-2! It just goes to show just how the iPhones are actually not in the same class as the Samsung flagships.

A few days ago I was confused as to which of the two phones I should buy. Everything that I consider important with respect to a phone pointed in favor of edge +. Better camera, more storage, larger screen, cheaper. But since I was already using android (nexus 5) so I chose iPhone 6s plus. Great phone. But using iOS reminds me that Android has come a long way ;)
My nexus 5 was a great phone. It performed some tasks better than iPhone. For example Web browsing. But nexus had an average camera that made me feel embarrassed at times. IPhone on the other hand is a consistent performer with great camera and matchless gaming experience

Well the iPhone is just a good gaming phone what I can see, but they are good games on IOS? (for free?) NO, so the Galaxy s6 edge + wins in an overall smartphone for what I care, Pictures, OS and Audio
