Motorola Moto X Play review: Crowd pleaser

If you like playing games avoid this phone. When it heats up it slows down. Its the chipset snapdragon 615. After 30 mins or less playing games the phone gets hot and starts to lag in games. Its useless, avoid you have been warned. I'm selling mine to buy one plus 2.

... moreIt's quite often that their overall score doesn't match their performance numbers.
Best to just check the subscores for surfing and video playback. Those give the best indicator for actual use, screen on and some usage.
This one clearly beats the S5 on broswing and video playback. Hence you can expect a few more hours with it with screen on and actual use.

Less pixels is about it. But I'm fine with 1080p display.
And a brightness I can turn up without eating the battery entirely.
I think I could remove the battery if I wanted to too.

Used x play for a while. Camera is good but nowhere near LG g4 especially in low light. Both phones are similarly priced at the moment. I've chosen g4.

how is the sound quality of moto ... moreIt's good. Much better than the S4 I upgraded from.
The speaker is still mono, but it's front facing and has better kick than the admittedly hushed s4.

X play beats the 2014 in all three categories.
The way people obsess over benchmarks is ridiculous. Look at the user experience, not how many abstract benchmark units it can obtain. Has anyone been finding the cellphone processors of aging flagships insufficient? I certainly haven't.
It's getting as bad as muscle cars-- it doesn't matter how much horsepower your car has if there's not a road you can push it's limitations on.

Mary, 18 Oct 2015615 is a disaster so avoid it like aids.Been using it and the processor works just fine. Perhaps not when running the most system stressing of games (probably played by less than 1% of all users), but for the vast majority of users this phone provides:
an excellent camera
an excellent display
and excellent battery life
All the nitpicking is for features most users can't/won't appreciate (QHD, ridiculous sensors) or will never use (excessive graphic processing power). If you're a power user then get a flagship; for the vast majority of people this phone has prioritized correctly.

300 $? NOT in Europe where is overpriced. 16 GB model is 350 €, and dual-SIM version is 377 € on amazon.de. It's way too much. 32 GB model is not even available.

Any phone with a snapdragon 615 is a waste. Once it heats up (which is very quickly) it gets slower than even the snapdragon 410.
