Anonymous, 17 Oct 2015I like good bang for the buck phones and Motorola seems to ... moreAgreed. The Moto X Play should have surpassed the S6 actives overall battery life score. When you compare the two the Moto X Play display pushes less pixels, the processor is less powerful, and the battery is 130 mAH bigger. I'm guessing Motorola cheaped out and used a less efficient panel, and the SD 615 isn't as efficient as claimed.

I like good bang for the buck phones and Motorola seems to be quite good at them. Even if on paper it seems better - the battery is barely better than many phones with 1000mah smaller batteries, the bulk is serious there too and design choices are questionable. It still seems like a very good choice for the low price.

You can get a snapdragon 801 phone for less then the price of the x play. Moto x 2014 is cheaper now and has more powerful hardware. One plus obviously have their original one plus one for less also. Research before you buy the x play as there is better phones out there.

The battery life section says
"The Snapdragon 615 isn't exactly power-sipping..."
But the ratio of battery endurance over battery size is about 50% greater for the Galaxy A8 indicating that it is the IPS display that is the one that is not power sipping.

Be careful with Snapdragon 615 phones, I would not buy this. Its slow and newer model of this chip is coming out soon. Don't be silly person to buy this device. Wait and you will not regret.

Snapdragon 620 is about to be released, I wouldn't bother with a snapdragon 615 phone now.... 620 will be a proper power house. Your buying old tech now with a 615 and they got heating problems unfortunately.

Iam very happy to see this review. You did a wonderful job. I really appreciate that. But some cons are i noticed
1)no panorama sample2) selfie sample is not clear the size is less 3)you dont add the downloading option for 540 fps video
Otherwise the review was out standing i really like that
