24 February, 2016
This is why we love the MWC - some of the best phones of the year were announced almost side by side. Two of the headliners are the LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and we know how heated the competition between G-series and Galaxy flagship can get.

Gsmarena can you please make a speed test comparison between SD800 quad core 2.3Ghz each and SD820 quad core...dual core2.15Ghz and dual core 1.6Ghz.
I believe the latter is faster and its the best Qualcomm has ever made. For comparison you can use Lg G2 or Note 3 with any of lg g5 or S7

      I tired googling and not found.. (S7 117k, LG G5 133k scored)

So battery, display, multi core by a larger margin and single core is very close, definitely some in camera, more advanced software, water resistance and such. Many strong key points.
It seems the S7 still takes the objective lead. Though regardless its still preference

sajjad faisal , 27 Feb 2016S7 vs g5 vs xp (necessities vs unnecessary) In this compa... moreX Performance for my opinion would be a better pick if you ask me. S7/edge and G5 are really, really great devices. They feel more of a flagship than X Performance. But when I heard about X Performance, I literally forgot about s7/edge and g5 because Sony really offers great smartphones. They are released with great specs (but not as great as Samsung's or Lg's) but with also a great pricetag. Sony are really putting up a good fight when it comes to phones but I hardly even notice that someone in our place is using one. Xperias are just great. I think that just 2/10 would agree with me. I used note 5 and s6 edge. They were great at first but instantly wasn't responsive and both were pretty laggy even with the best android processir around in their time. I also have a z5 and it really gives me the performance that I need in a smartphone. Z5 doesn't just is my proof that xperias are great. I also own a lot of xperias ( flagships and mid-range)before that are still working fine today compared to myprevious Samsung and Lg phones which are completely unusable now. I also have a friends which own Samsung phones like the s5 and s4 which are completely laggy and the screens are untouchable now. You can't even press any app.Same thing with Lg. That is why I completely drawn my attention to X Performance. I am pretty scared to waste a lot of money to a phine that might just give me the real feel of it's specs in just a few months and becones crappy all of the sudden. These are just my bad experiences with Samsung and Lg which give me a very nice lesson: Specs isn't everything. Why pick a great phone which just gives you a pretty limited premium feel when you can pick one with less impressive but practical specs which can give you the performance that you want exchange with the money you bought it with.

The G5 won in every camera/video area except for low light. Also G5 had a better benchmark in antutu and single core scores. Samsung has a better battery and a better screen. These phones are very close in competition, and which one is better heavily depends on what you need a phone for and how you're affected by marketing

S7 vs g5 vs xp (necessities vs unnecessary)
In this comparison, I'll write what I want and don't want in my next smartphone, in different fields.
                    1)design:
I will simply prefer polished or brushed metal of g5 or xp over fingerprint magnet and fragile glass of S7.
But I also want waterproofing, which is present in S7 and xp.
Third one is dedicated camera shutter key, which is extremely important. if you use a little common sense, it is clear that while we read about all the latest tech fitted in a camera module from its pixel size to auto focus technology for just incremental benefits over each other, a dedicated camera shutter key is must for mobile photography.
While g5's modular design is very innovative, It is not suitable for lifestyle
, business etc because you have to carry additional accessories to make sure you get good sound quality or good camera controls, or a lasting battery life.
After above 3 conditions, xp is clear preference in design.
The 3 conditions aside, xp also looks much more mature as compared to other 2,with its minimalistic yet classy design. Also it has an edge over remaining 2 eg. Placement of fingerprint sensor and front facing speakers, Symmetry and balance between sportiness and class, and design language more suitable to men(compared to s7)
                    WINNER:x performance
                    Next preference :no one
                    2)Display:
more closer to 5 Inch, more preferred.
                    Amoled more preferred than Lcd.
On 5.5 inch screen, I'd have preferred QHD, but the benefit of 577 ppi over 441 ppi in real life is not as big as having much better frame rates with smaller resolution.
I have to do nothing with "always on display"
So from display point of view, S7 have best display, but as power consumption of both screens may be same (one have less pixels and another have AMOLED tech) the pixel density benefit of S7 can't overcome xp's performance benefit.
                    WINNER:X performance
                    Next preference :s7
                    3)internal hardware :
S6 and g5 have 4gb ram while xp have "only" 3gb.
                    India will get inferior exynos.
(benchmarks already proved exynos to be inferior in both overall performance and gpu)
So here g5 is preferred choice .
                    WINNER :G5
                    Next preference :s7
                    4)Camera :
                    Sony have largest pixel count.
Also fastest auto focus and best stabilisation( practically).
Samsung have brightest aperture thus better night photography.
G5's secondary camera is interesting addition, but in my opinion, it's extraordinarily wide viewing angle and lack of auto focus (let alone the ois) will significantly reduce image sharpness.
                    WINNER :X performance
                    Next preference :S7
5)Software :all having latest version of Google's os and I do many of the customisation to my phone, I can live with any of these with hardware of my liking.
6)battery:S7 has screen almost as small as xp, with its AMOLED tech, and packing 3000 mah battery. X performance have smallest screen with least pixels and sony's bunch of battery saving tech, but also smallest battery. Finally g5 have largest screen, with 2k resolution, more power hungry Lcd, and always on display with inferior 2800 mah for said specifications.
                    WINNER :s7
                    Next preference :X performance
                    Marks:
                    (winner =2 next preferred =1 last =0)
                    S7, g5, xp
                    Design 0,0,2
                    Display 1,0,2
                    Internals 1,2,0
                    Camera 1,0,2
                    Software 1,1, 1
                    Battery 2,0,1

                    S6 :6
                    G5 :3
                    Xp :8
Marks are not the count of performance /features. In fact they are comparative grade of preference for a customer from practical point of view.

But I played with both S7 and S7 edge for an hour and actually I own the G4, I'm not saying that cause I'm an lg fan or I prefer lg over Samsung or iPhone, but G4 camera still tad better than S7 camera especially in colors accuracy, IPS LCD still has better white than Samsung super Amoled. But I still prefer the feel, look and design of S7 and S7 edge more than any lg flagship around.

G5 does have advantages: removable battery, expandable up to 2TB, no burn in on screen, Amoled does, especially with new always on feature this is a concern. Buy whatever phone you want but, stop speaking nonsense.

                                    * Even S7 has all the advantages over G5 as Edge, just being smaller - so, better used space, too.
                                    * Marketing is powerful, but you cant fool people to spend 800 dollars on phone - people simply recognize good, complete product, and easily separate it from gimmicky "innovative" products on market.
                                    * G5 has NOT more to offer. As I said before - it has only one advantage over S7 - "modular" design - which is nice thing in theory, but knowing LG - it will be just another gimmick.
                                    * G5 won "best new phone award". Fiat Stilo once won "Car of the Year" award - and later it was recognised as one of the worst cars in whole class.
