Galaxy Note7 vs. S7 edge vs. Note5: Camera shootout

22 August 2016
There can be no rivalry amidst Galaxies, but this has never stopped us from putting them against each other in all sorts of comparisons. It's what we call a shootout and this time, we'll be focusing on camera performance.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2016A marginally better mobile camera is a silly reason to buy ... moreSorry, I'm coming from a Note 3 - camera focusing takes a long time. S Pen is something I need with 4 times the pressure sensitivity input. I already got the Note7 - wonderful, yet I don't agree with the back glass and sealed battery. I admire the Note 4, but the overall quality for the Note7's camera is what I need - and my Note 3 is 3 years.

I got it in 2012,So i want to use it for photography for a long time, It was huge innovation by Nokia, I love Nokia, i believe one day they will come back and capture the market again.

Thank you gsmarena for ur review. Well, i can say in terms of camera. I can say there is no difference at all, not visible to naked eye unless you go for a comparison tool. It is your choice now to decide whether to buy or not.
Well, samsung is good at providing same features down the lines. People fighting about the software upgrades of note 7 over note 5. Need not worry, samsung will soon update your devices

If u want your Image to be brighter then adjust the Exposure Value.
If you want the colors to be more darker then Lower the Exposure Value. but the Whole Image will get dark a little bit depending on the Exposure Value.

If You want the best Image Quality then buy dslr..
All Mobile Phones has very small sensor.
Even the cheapest digicam can match the most high-end and most expensive mobile phone camera.

Image Quality in any Photo is just all about Image Sensor/Processor
MegaPixels is just all about size.

Mega means Million. it just means 1 Million dots. the more dots the higher the image size.
it has no connection with Image Quality.

The 808 has a great camera but the new point and shoot cameras will comfortably out do it and they have zoom. If it is your phone and camera that's cool but the rest of it is a bit dated now.

I'm surprised that there aren't more mobiles with over-sized sensors.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2016A marginally better mobile camera is a silly reason to buy ... moreSorry, i own the GN4 and my GN7 is a massive step up in almost every area on the GN4.
Aside from the usual battery life, build/looks, performance, software etc the camera is MASSIVELY BETTER.

The only real downside for me is that the screen is more likely to scratch but its less likely to shatter. I still prefer the gripper back of the GN4.

I know particular commentators have been ... moreA marginally better mobile camera is a silly reason to buy anything with so many downsides. I feel bad for Note 7 owners. As long as this phone sells, it is made clear to Samsung that they hardly need to improve over generations. Similar, AR battery/camera to last gen, almost the same performance, same display , fragile glaas ... and the list goes on .

Note 4 is king still and that should worry everybody. Phones are far from being exciting anymore, they have been commoditized...

Judging by that shit site... moreThe scores are given on many factors, one can make a phone a little up on score and the other one can make it down for a con it has. There is a reason that S7 is there at the top and i admit it that S7/Edge are the best till date but the Note7 beats them all (not reviewed by DxO yet) and when they'll review it, im sure its gonna top their scorecard. So, stop whining about how one should see how good a camera is as all of the 2015/16 flagships are almost same for a normal eye and i dont mind using Z5/G5/S7/Note7 camera if i need to get a picture and if im going to have a real capture of something, i might bring out my Canon DSLR not these childish cameras.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2016how do you play games with curved screen? The curve is nowhere as pronounced as the S7 edge. Its not an issue for use.
The only time i have noticed it was reading a non-genuine ebook and the left side font ran to the edge of the screen and had a slight bend until i changed the font size up and down.

Judging by that shit site s7 should be on par with htc10 on camera but they arw not even close. S7 has better aperture , quicker focus , front camera eis which is doing a better job than htc's ois, when crooped in 100 % in photos you will see htc lacks details , not to mention digital zoom which is 4 times more powerful. When I see people posting DxO scores I just want to fart in their noses. Btw sony sucks in therms of camera unless you are a fan of manual control.

I am using the Z5 and well, i am not that into camera and capturing pictures but still, when i do click some random pictures, the Z5 never ceases to amaze me. Each of the clicks is worth viewing be it daylight or low light. I am very much satisfied by its performance and dont think i would be changing my phone because of camera anytime soon.
