LG V20 review: Twice as bright

23 September 2016
If the LG V20 was a superhero - and we're not convinced that it's not - its superpower would be to have two of everything (or more!). Two screens, two cameras... twice!, four DACs, two apps on the screen, the list goes on and on.

Savor, 23 Sep 2016After reading the review, I am leaning towards Note7.. ... moreYou had all of the phones (CrApple, Shitsung, LG) to know the difference, or you are just judging it by reading the specs?

WTH is with that Battery Endurance Rating?! Even the S7 and X Compact have better Endurance ratings (Oh, don't tell me: "It's because of the screen!" and other crap. The S7 almost has an equal spec sheet, even if it has a smaller screen, it has a lower battery. The X Compact which is a smaller screen and lower resolution, It has a much more battery consuming SoC than the V20). LG! Get your stuff together!

I'm going with the V20 over the Note 7. I had a Note 2 and 4. I hate change but the removable battery is a huge deal imo. So what it's only 3200mha, you can remove it and for about $40 in 6 months you will be able to replace it with a more powerful battery, that's the whole point of a removable battery. Plus if your phone gets hot or plays up, simply removing battery and putting back in helps. My note 4 battery lasted about 2 years, what do you do when the Note 7 battery starts dying or getting weaker?
I like the idea of the 2nd screen, the superior sound. The iris scanner on the Note is a gimmick, and I don't go swimming with my phone so waterproof isn't a big deal either.

I've been a Note user up to Note 4. I've been waiting with anticipation for the LG V20 reviews. Now I want one! - Please bring it to the UK!

OSasmatteroffact, 23 Sep 2016"My advice except you are an audiophile don't buy the v20 g... moreHow original. Did you come up with that joke all by yourself?

What is funnier is when I see iPhone 7+ still having INFERIOR cameras to the Note7. Inferior design using it for three straight generations in a row. Still at 1080p when that resolution should be minimum. Still lost to Note7 in battery life. An iPhone 7+ takes nearly 3 hrs to fully charge. Cut it back to 30 minutes with an iPad charger but Note7 still charges faster by one full hour. The Note7 is also smaller and narrower than both 7+ and V20.

The LG V20 battery score is garbage. I have no time carrying an extra battery when battery life should be great in the first place. LG used to have the best displays too. Now they have average displays with light bleeding. They have been tarnishing their reputation since last year with the reboot loops on their G4 and V10 which is far more common than an exploding Note7. Again, V20 only standouts with audio. Being stuck with clearly an average display and battery life are huge red flags against it. LG should've packed it with 4000 mAh. Design is okay if you get it in silver but nothing amazing.

Look at all objectively and without an OS bias. Where exactly do the iPhone 7 Plus and LG V20 beat an S7 edge or Note7 in hardware aspects? Not many. Again, only by trying to smear campaign the Note7 with bomb jokes and having a hatred for Samsung is when you can't admit others are inferior. I made a mistake back in 2013 picking an HTC One M7 over S4. I got stuck with overheating, short battery life, long to charge, and purple photos in six months. I won't make the same mistake again...

                Best smartphones

                2013 - Note 3
                2014 - Note 4
                2015 - S6 edge
                2016 - Note7 (S7 edge a close 2nd)

A company like LG is going the same downward spiral as HTC. Ever since the G4 reboot loop debacle, very hard to ever trust LG ever again for flagships.

Well for me I am not a heavy user I have an LG magna LTE with a 2450 MAH battery and I just take it at 100 when I wake up and I dont charge it till I sleep so the battery life must be so much greater on that but I miss buttons at the back so much amd I always wished for a phone with IR blaster and I dont have to use a case on it so this maybe my next phone mine is still good though but the GPS is sooooooooo annoying and storage is so bad I have an SD card but I cant move all apps to it so an SD card slot without the adoptable storage on android M is useless I guarantee you.

AnonD-391326, 23 Sep 2016Your eyesight is not good...better checked lolWell, taste is not to be discussed I agree, but looking at other 2 camera module flag phones, like huawei or apple, this one is designed the worst. At least IMO.
But then again I find any protruding camera phone ugly so...

great review, the second screen improvements look cool and helpfull now
what i'm most worried about is the fact that it heats up (Acording to review) i hope it doesn't over-heat otherwise it's a no-no, specially since they say it heats very quick, other than that it's cool, the battery might not be the best but hey, removable battery is what u wanted right? it's still manageable ^_^
