Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 review: A hidden gem

06 October 2016
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has big shoes to fill - its predecessor became India's best selling phone online and enjoys great popularity in China. It comes barely half a year since the Note 3 went on sale, but it's not quite a direct replacement - instead both will live side by side, with the Note 4 as a more premium offering.

Without kernel source code it's useless. Snapdragon version of Redmi Note 3 is a wiser choice.

Jenny, 07 Oct 2016X20 blows the 650 to outer space. 650 is ancient now... Still not good, X20 is MTK's high end chipset but it's performance is only in par with SD652 which means it's hardly a flagship cpu at all.

Actually, Redmi Note 4 is officially launched in Taiwan and here in Nepal. Redmi Note 4 was recently launched in Nepal with 3GB RAM and 64GB ROM variat at Nepalese Rupee: Rs.32999 ($309.283 USD). Which is quite expensive compared to Chinese market price.

MTK? No roms, no kernels to play with, no community, nothing. No buy!

                    Give us "snappydragon".

bring a new SD chip to the note 4 pro (S or whatever). the MT one is not efficient, it's cheaper for a reason.

I like the last paragraph in the reveiw keep writing it in every xiaomi phone reveiw..... xiaomi is so behind in world wide availability they even still ship their every new phone in chinese non global rom even for phones they plan to launch in india.

That grey color looks awful.I would like to buy it in White or soft creamy color unless they ruin those colors too :/.Plus the Helio version looks like a downgrade. The camera hasn't made much progress either.Oh well i guess Mi5s plus is the phone matching my standards.

If only this was QHD...for VR etc.

So you basically want a Redmi Pro. It is the Redmi Note 4 but its main camera sensor and lens is the exact same one that you got in the Mi4i/Mi4c. A Redmi Pro (32GB storage, 3GB RAM) costs $205 on Geekbuying with shipping included. It is worth the $17 price difference from the Redmi Note 4 (64GB, 3GB RAM).
