performance and functionality are, no doubt tje most important factor, but, for the ammount of money needed to get a pixel, the look of the device becomes important, I would not expend that much money in a so expensive crappy cheapish looking phone as the pixel, I would rather wait for the S8, even if more expensive than this pixel thing

You forgot to mention that AMOLED screens are extremely prone to have poor quality, and if you buy one you are bound to have at least some sort of significant problem, like color banding, black crush, tinted screen...
I wonder if reviewers receive hand picked units that have extraordinary good screens so they always end up praising the screen because they don't see what the average consumer sees.
Apple will be dead for me once they switch to AMOLED. But I was never an Apple user anyways so.

HTC made or HTC inspire are both phones. That antenna line design is actually first brought by HTC and then Apple steal the show because of their strong PR. Secondly iPhone 7 has disappointed the iOS users in all ways. So asking to name anything other than camera is unjust. I don't understand why you guys being so diplomatic in selecting a clear winner i.e. Pixel

Afterwards had a Samsung Omnia Qwerty (WinMo 6.x) and from there on things took a turn for the worse. Now Im just waiting for actual x86/x64 app support and not the disquised Windows RT BS of Win10 on mobile devices. 'till then its Android all the way (or Linux/Ubuntu finally manages to find its way to phones that will actually be sold).

Touchwiz, LG UI, HTC Sense...even third parties, from launchers to themes...infinitely customizable...don't like a font...change it.

I'm a graphic designer and I create user interfaces for a lot of apps & tools - and everyone in this field of work agrees that Android's UI looks like it was created in a rush, by still-learning graphic designers.
Oh, and Android's fonts are terrible. (can't miss that)

Sony used to have the best camera when it comes to smartphone.. To bad the Xperia XZ disappoint in camera performance compared to pixel and iPhone. It shows that having 20mp camera doesn't mean it's better than a 12mp camera.

this is the original and serious rivalry... thought that apple is more concern about this google device than other second class devices like sony and samsung...
