Few names in the fast-paced mobile industry can boast such a long-standing and universal brand recognition such as the legendary Motorola. Even now, after the glory GSM age is long gone, and the brand is under Lenovo leadership, the Moto badge still has a special place in the minds of the tech-savvy.

If u hear something nice, u will praise moto and something bad, then lenovo!
This mods concept was an failure attempt from Lenovo. They tried this Vibe X2 and failed like LG G5.
Motorola only knows to make bricks.

      I am just shocked that the gsmarena battery test gives only 100 h to the Moto Z Play when i have read a lot of reviews where they talk about the great, superb and amazing battery. Can someone explain to me how Samsung Galaxy C7 and the Moto Z Play obtain the same hours when the Moto wins in every test by a large margin? Moto wins by 5 hours in talk time, by 1 hour in web browsing and by 3 fricking hours in the video test and they have the same result in hours, 100. Something is wrong with the test. Thanks

        Camera actually isn't that bad when I used the studio comparison chart. Z Play is so less grainy than OnePlus 3T.

            Moto Z is on par with OP3
            Z force is better than both Op3 and op3t
            But I would go all Motorola because OP3 is chinese designed afterall

                Dude, better battery life, expandablility, and availability are decisive factors for people in general so we'd give credit to Moto Z Play.

                Don't get me wrong I prefer OP3T becauae I'm leaning to milli-second faster device, but its advantage is disappointingly marginal from what I've seen in videos..

                  If you want to see what Motorola will become under Lenovo, look no further than the Moto M and the rumored upcoming Moto X. They all look like a generic Chinese phone. Lenovo doesn't even continue the Moto mods. This year's Motorola Lineup (Z, Z play, G4, G4 Plus) are probably the last lineup from the old Motorola.

                              OP3 camera is much better. I owned z play, and now z force, but guys let's face it OP3 is a better phone in almost all aspects. That chinese value for money can't be beaten.

                                To my surprise, Moto Z Play stacks up against OnePlus 3 in performance too in a Youtube video. As for opening light apps (not heavy games or a camera), those two go head-to-head.
                                I was originally watching OP3T's performance because I was ordering one but as it turned out, Moto's SD 625 doesn't suck in real life.


                                That said, I think Motorola and other manufacturers should boost its default animation speed because slower animation spoils snappy feel when customers(e.g myself) try them in a store.

                                  And Lenovo is destroying Motorola, isn't it? People complaining about Lenovo destroying Motorola. Now with this review, it's clear that Motorola it's in good hands. :)

                                    What I meant by not comparing with op3 is because of specifications, if you want to compare moto z play than compare with similar phones with similar specifications for example Zenfone 3, Huawei Honor 8.

Some people can't afford it so they try to compare it with cheap brands with flagship specs but in every day use specs don't really matter except if you have no life like using the phone as a pc. Sometimes, low, mid or high end phones don't matter as long you a have a trusted brand or a solid one. There's lots of reasons why they have to put up with those prices. They are not shaken by the cheap competitors because they know their products. Oneplus are just for the trying hard wannabe geeks that wanna look cool for having flagship specs but in the end. It is just a one plus one phone. So sad. Godbless and cheers, man.

The review unit was also put through the same rigorous testing as any other phone. Choosing to only see the performance argument as the reason for the admittedly negative findings of the review is a very narrow-minded attempt at overlooking all the other valid points made throughout the many long pages. Also, asking not to compare the Moto Z Play "with oneplus 3 or any other phone for that matters" is not realistic, nor fair from a reviewer standpoint. Nor should it be hailed as an acceptable approach from any end-user and prospective buyer.
