The software support, unlimited original quality media and the awesome camera are worth the extra money, believe me, I have a Nexus 7, it has 5.1.1 and runs good after 4 years!!! (same generation as Galaxy S3)

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2016this oneplus thing is all hype. Unknown and low volume comp... moreHype? Speak only if you've used both the phones. OnePlus is a well established brand and 3T is indeed a flagship killer. Pixel is an excellent phone, probably one of the best in the market. But people should accept the fact that 3T has an edge in some areas like performance. It is clearly visible. Multitasking and app launching times are faster, battery life is crazy higher. Im not saying that pixel is slow. But it is slower than 3T for sure.
So many pixel users have reported unexpected crashes, but 3T is running smoother than ever even in marshmallow
Even in marshmallow, 3T outperforms pixel. OnePlus is doing a great job in releasing updates. They have released some beta Nougat updates already and those updates are working just fine. Recently, original Nougat build has been received by users.
The software updates will be faster in google but OnePlus is nearly good as well. Moreover, Oxygen OS is the closest custom UI to stock android and is way better than the heavy UI's by Samsung, LG,etc. Heavy UI always make the devices slow despite having the same specs. (Reason why OP3T is was faster than S7-Edge)

AnonD-65736, 27 Dec 2016"The Pixel XL is running the newest Android version availab... moreTrue, but if you would take a look at the Nougat release notes, you would get an idea of the improvements and features that has been brought forth and why the latest OS version is required.
Having said that, the latest software also brings a host of other minor bugs and so, which you won't find it in the stable iterated build of the previous gen OS.
So, your argument on Marshmallow over Nougat might be right, but it is valid only for a while. Because after that while, the latest is gonna be a pleasurable experience, and OP better start upgrading its phone, just like what it is doing now, albeit a bit late.

Google is following Apple. A 32gb phone. Really? Why not a 64gb and then the 128gb? Memory is cheaper than rice. It's a marketing cash grab from the big players. No one will be able to sell a 32gb in 2 or 3 years and that's what they want to eliminate... used phones. At least companies like OnePlus offer a 64gb option.

The main benefit of the pixel is that it will get android P and op3t will only get android O. Other than that op3t is just as good if not better in balance.

The oneplus 3t has gone quite high with the price. 3t costs 440 € while pixel xl between 600 and 650. So it costs 50% more not double...

Honestly your best argument for the pixel is the newer Android version. But you can have the latest on the op3t just by installing a custom rom, of which basically all are 7.1.1 based.
I think you should give more credit to the ability to install custom OS onto phones.

I don't know what is wrong with GSMARENA nowadays. When they did moto z play review, they compared that to OP3T and now this. But the price difference between any phone vs OP3T is that you can buy other phones with contract and pay much less than unlocked version. While for OP3T you have to pay whole amount upfront. Like I bought moto z Play in Canada with contract for $15 a month and so in two years I'm paying only $360 with 0 down payment and for OP3T it's $599 upfront. And what more, I can pay rest of $360 for my phone after 3 months and get out of contract as well. Same with pixel. I know that's not the case for all over the world but at least for North America it's very true.
