Sony Xperia XZs review: Slow (e)motion

Slap a new camera on the Xperia XZ, et voila - you have yourself a brand-new flagship. Is Sony taking advantage of a smartphone-induced decrease in human attention span? Or just doing what everyone else does?

          And manual...
          just two steps, at max mpx lower shutter and higher LE... gets you better results than any S8.
          And it stays preset that way, just swipe to manual and shoot wonderful lowlight photos.

Of course you won't agree, right? S6 with f1.9 never matches the Z5 if you know how to use Manual Mode and use proper settings. I gave the XZ an enough try at S. Auto 20mp in artificial lighting condition with written texts and compared it against the S7 Edge with the same settings (Auto 12mp) and guess what, XZ has a hell lot more detail pulled out despite the tiny bits of grain. S7 Edge already destroyed the S6, and there's just no way the XZs would be wrecked by the S6. Give it a try first, even the Note 5 can't compare to the XZs anymore

You are mixing providers offers and amazon international unlocked device prices... you can get S8 in US for 750 which is more than XZs 700, but under contract terms which adds 30 dollars monthly for 2 years on contract.
                If this phone was on contract terms too, it would be about 500 dollars plus 30 monthly, not 750 dollars plus 30 monthly as S8 is.

XZs low light quality photos may not be as good as the S8 series, but the S8 series can never come close to the XZs's ability of Super Slow Motion 960fps video, which is 4x slower than the slowest that the S8 series can do at the samr 720p HD resolution

                  Second, you can never blame Sony or any other OEM for offering such high prices in your country. In the Philippines, the XZ (non-'s') costs just $100 more than the Exynos S7 Edge, and the XZs is about to be retailing for only $500 but I'm not sure about it

                    year old chipset, could have been 821pro for 2017, better camera sensor yet worse image processing. give this sensor to LG or Microsoft and see what they produce!!! and small battery with poor battery life. 5.2" requires a minimum 3200mAh battery on any flagship, higher is better. design is OK.

                          Shooting at handheld with hardware button, max res and maximum 3200 iso, provides this detail mush.
                          This is not cameras lowlight capability, its automode lowlight worst possible results for pixelppepers delight, although shots come out great looking 1:1.
                          There are loads of lowlight photos from this camera over the net already, telling a totally different story.
                          And as usual, worst possible ones are here.

Please.. this is crap.. the bezels are even larger than what it was in 2005.. hehe.. even the moto handsets have front stereo speakers, and even htc, but they have less bezel.. and distortion? whom are you kidding!! they look perfect.. Sony is like just another chinese brand, but in reality they have better performance, stock android, and even better camera.. Xiaomi, hauwei, vivo, oppo, oneplus, every one have better devices than sony flagships.. they even sell more. but samsung is something different than everyone else.. the curved screen is unique. Prospecting buyers should have a choice.. and I guess they chose the so called distorted curved display.. In 2015 and 2016, the curved versions of their flagships sold as much as 4-5 times than the normal version.. which clearly is the reason for the complete omisson of flat displays in galaxy s8 series.. no brainer... you are on fire with jealousy... sale that sony on olx, and save some money so that you can buy sammy .. its better, and you know it..

GSMARena Photo Compare Tool proves it, I'd say S7 series has better cameras, but you must be high for claiming that the S6 does. And Xperia is not a total failure at all. Z3 was the best of them all for having the best of every department during its time. XZs is a small leap, but XZ Premium has the potential to get them back if they do a hell lot better at perfecting the camera software

                                No one buys Bravia? Dude, Sony's Bravia TVs are one of the most selling TVs all over the world, second but close to LG's OLED TVs. A1E OLED is their true prominent factor of stealing the crown back that they lost when Koreans started to take over with great products at a lower costs.

                                    The low-light landscape samples are quite unimpressive - they lack detail, there is lens flare and the photos are nowhere near as sharp as we'd like them to be. Regardless whether we used a tripod or not, the images just didn't come out right. Despite the larger pixels, the low light photos by the Xperia XZs seem softer than those by the Xperia XZ.


                                    SO MUCH SO FOR SONY CAMERA CAPABILITIES. even the 2 year old s6 had better night results with a 16 MP camera..

                                    One word, xperia is a failed project , where such a good-old brand as Sony, is trying to keep it alive by profits from other divisions.. literally no one buy bravia and xperia.. Sony is good at studio, and gaming, but not hardware..

                                    This phone looks like it came from 2005.. even the sony ericcsons had better design in 2010
