I have checked the photo comparison tool ZX Premium vs. Galaxy S8 and have to say that Sony's photo quality is a joke! They talko so much about their photo features, yet they still can output a decent image even in good light - in this review here the samples look like oil paintings in 100% zoom. And in the comparison tool:
http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=8593&idPhone2=8161
you can clearly seen that the S8 outperforms the XZ Premium, both in good and low light.

The label right below the the image reads this:
"Low-light shots taken on a tripod (Intelligent Auto)"
Guys come on now, new competition. Compare automatic mode's handheld shots with shots taken from a tripod, and more importantly of different scenes, that's much more important. And I just had lunch, all these laughter now, uff...

However. Even in moderate light the S8 is noticeable better even without pixel peeking.

XZ Prem vs S7 lowlight:
... moreThis kid just compared manual mode (the tripod one too I think) of XZP with automatic mode of S7, of a different scene.
I should delete shows like Big Bang Theory and sorts, cause comedic elements are too much in this place.

The main problem is the dynamic range. The XZP can't handle the difference in bright and dark areas. Look at the sign on the left on the last 2 photos. You can't even tell it is a person on the XZP photo.
Aside from that the white balance us poor and detail isn't as good.
It's the S8+ by a long way.

Sony Xperia phones are catered only towards die-hard fans and loyalists of the brands these days. Sony will never ever gain new customers unless they innovate and tries to be cool. And no, adding a new camera sensor with mediocre image processing isn't innovation. Sony just keeps recycling their old phones without adding more features and improving the UI design. If I want stock Android, I'd buy a Google Pixel. But if I want more advanced features, I'd buy a Galaxy. There is really no point getting a Sony phone. It offers no real advantage over what the competition has.

Lighting conditions and lowlight scenario are exactly the same...
Furthermore I previously provided crops of XZ Prem vs S8 to show preserved detail and processing, which no one serious a out photography can say are better on S8, except lie, and with only diff wb and exposure.
So to prove anyone coming and saying XZ Prem is crap in lowlight vs S8/S7... is full of crap actually.
