In case of android world pixels would like to talk to you. Also in audio I'd rather trust gsma ratings rather than of a guy insulting people. Cameras are basically a tie nowadays and design is matter of opinion I like design of xzp but many won't same applies to s8 I see it as ergonomic nightmare

I really like the XZ Prem lowlight quality, more punchy color, sharp, excellent dynamic range.

Xperia M5, C5 Ultra, X, X performance, XA Ultra and Xperia XZ also have autofocus in selfie camera!
Now Xperia XZs, XZ premium, XA1 Ultra and XA1 have autofocus selfie camera!
Also Xperia XZ, XZs, XZ premium have 5-axis stabilization for selfie camera and Xperia XA Ultra and XA1 Ultra have optical stabilization (OIS) for selfie camera!!!
Sony smartphones have best selfie cameras

Beast phone of 2017, but I feel sorry for myself when I can't afford to buy it as of now. I'll definitely buy in about two-three years when price decreases.

AnonD-77443, 13 May 2017Xzp is better in those pics??.. Really? Those photos highli... moreRubbish. The S8 does not resolve more detail or have better colour reproduction. Indeed, the colours outputted on the S8 are far too saturated in almost all cases. This from an S8 owner: the camera on this thing is over rated.

Sony moved to 4K because people are sick of 1080p being a lower resolution, and when they did, everyone's complaining.
People will never get satisfied. They always will have something to complain about, especially the non-Sony fans.

AnonD-72356, 13 May 2017Right but a phone isn't just for a daylight camera even, th... more"Right but a phone isn't just for a daylight camera"
--It's not but it's where most people will use their camera phones to.
Do you wonder sometimes why photographers always use a light source before taking photos in a somewhat dim environment? Smartphones have built-in flashes for a reason. It's pointless to have it when it's not going to be used at all. It's just wasting space.
"there are many other features one need in a smartphone and Xperia Xzp lacks in about everything in front of Galaxy S8"
--Like what? Cameras are only made to take photos. What does the XZ Premium lack against the S8 when both basically do the job they're made for? Ah that stinky Bixby that does everything Google Now has already been doing for years. I get it.
"bragging about 19mp camera only which is no better than S8 won't make it a worthy smartphone."
--So you're just trying to say that a 12mp 1/2.5" sensor camera is better than a 19mp 1/2.3" sensor camera. Makes sense.

You got also option of using different camera app to get slower shutter speed on auto, just nothing to complain, sony got biggest sensor and newest tech in it that changes(/get better) every 6months.

ithehappy, 13 May 2017A camera is about everything, that's the only thing you sai... more"Low light is an extremely important part of a mobile camera."
--Why? Do you live in space where that's very necessary? Then stop getting phones and get a full frame digital camera instead. Or else a night vision camera is available today and will help you see more. Not that I'm saying it's not an important aspect, but it's just one. Just because low light capability isn't that good, doesn't mean it's not a good camera overall. That's like saying someone is ugly just because his/her feet look ugly.
"Most top of the line mobile cameras take almost identical shots in day time, its low light where most of them fall apart."
--Oh really? Identical? So can you explain me why the iPhone 7 has different color tones compared to the S8 in daylight! Can you explain scientifically why the Pixel has the class-leading dynamic range in daylight? Can you also tell me why the XZs/XZ Premium is unmatched in details resolved in daylight?
Everyone falls because of hardware limitations. The XZ Premium falls behind because it's got the highest megapixel, because Sony themselves understand that smartphone cameras are suited for daylight shots and no one is insane to take a picture in pitch dark situations and expect a very bright and detailed image.
"Almost all the current flagship cameras, and cameras from last year will outperform this new Sony phone easy, so there is that, game over."
--Okay. Ask DxOMark of how will they judge it. They only do necessary tests.
"Otherwise stop saying nonsense and defending crap phones."
--Telling you how an average user uses a camera phone is nonsense? Wow. Then I don't know what for you is "make/s sense" shitt.
There's no such thing as "crap" phone because all of them are good at their very own ways,
You seemed to only focus on low light shots, which I guess you're living in a world where light never travels inside.

The biggest difference is things like brightness, sunlight performance, colour, viewing angle etc.

AnonD-72356, 13 May 2017Compare both displays side by side and you'll know how supe... moreI already have seen the S7 Edge display, that follows the same pixel pattern as the S8/S8+'s panel. Then I also saw 2K IPS LCD phones like the G4, V10, and G5. Also saw 1080p IPS LCD panels like the Z5, Xperia X, XZ, XA Ultra, and iPhone 7 Plus.
S7 Edge looks the most saturated of all, but while sharpness isn't too noticeable, it definitely IS when side-by-side. Still your choice if you like that pixel matrix. Nothing's going to be lost if you choose it, but you must know that the difference is there.
Besides, other than improved color accuracy, contrast, etc., sharpness remains the same between the S7/S7 Edge and S8/S8+ right?
Feels like they went down with sharpness because the S7 Edge got more ppi density than the S8 while being smaller in size. Smaller screen size means pixels are more dense so no individual pixels are gonna be visible. S8 got a larger footprint so pixels will spread all over and they (the pixels) are farther away from each other to cover the larger area.
Just because it's called QHD+ doesn't mean it's better than a standard QHD. It's in that form because of an unconventional 18.5:9 ratio, which is very rare in content industry.
