Low light is an extremely important part of a mobile camera. Most top of the line mobile cameras take almost identical shots in day time, its low light where most of them fall apart. And this camera falls apart hilariously.
Almost all the current flagship cameras, and cameras from last year will outperform this new Sony phone easy, so there is that, game over.

If you're a low light master, get a DSLR or any full frame digital camera. Even the so-called "best camera phone" will be obsolete in comparison to those mighty large sensors and optics. If anything, the closest one so far are the Nokia 808 and Lumia 1020, so sad that MS lost interest of keeping the support to those beasts. Can't wait to see a Nokia flagship camera phone with the superb PureView 1" sensor and Carl Zeiss f1.8 optics in 12mp resolution. Don't need a lossless zoom, the pixels wiill eventually get larger and you'd get better zooming details because the pixels will grow larger for an unparalleled low light capability.

I can't tell the difference between Xzp or any other Sony flagship phone came in 3-4 years. S8 with its beautiful curved infinity display makes it the best looking, out of the crowd easily recognizable phone.

Sony is just starting to join the low light kings' camp.
Don't worry because soon the next 2017 Sony flagship will finally be on par with Samsung and the whole competition in photography department.
They are already killing the videography department and photography is soon to follow.

XZ Prem is better in all aspects here, except higher exposure, which can easily be lowered in automode.

Congrats Sony.
One of the worst "flagship" camera out there.
God those low light auto samples are actually scary to look at and hard to believe in mid 2017. Probably next year they might come up with something which might rival the two year old like S7 and Pixel and iPhone 7 and sorts.

htt... moreXzp is better in those pics??.. Really? Those photos highlight my comments about low light performance. (the low light gsmarena studio is 28lux which is a lot brighter and the Sony is still poor)
The S8 has massively better dynamic range, better colour and has more detail.

No idea why, they just do.....
Samsung, htc, apple etc all use sony sensors to top dxomark but for reason sony's post processing is not upto the mark....
Forget imx 378, they could have used imx 333 or imx 362 both of them have 2017 standard hardware....

As expected poor loudness. Why would one buy mobile and suffer to hear the other part or when turn on speaker and can't hear anything in a noise environment.
It is time Sony to go to another brand

I remember people to say QHD as useless in phones. It's not about whether you can see, difference is there, be it just "feeling" when watch from 30cm, or eye popping difference of 4mp and 8mp when you look from 10cm. Point is you get to enjoy that when it matters, while otherwise its running on your favorite fhd. If you care so much about low light photography, try other brands, but be aware that no one got more realistic color reproduction, also even if low light auto is bad in resolution, its great in colors and processing is better than ever. Its true that this short super-slo-mo is too short, but its not useless as its not some low res sd but hd clip. Also every phone got slo-mo so nobody using it and it being useless is not true. Finally top and bottom bezels are only disadvantage, if you compare it to durability of edges or corners of S8, therefore XZP is more life-proof, so you wont get an heart attack after it falls. I surely wouldn't want a phone that breaks after one fall or to wear it in a case after paying extra for edges.

phonearena says its an impressive camera（xzs）for daylight. androiduthority says its one of the better camera for low light, recombu says its(xzs) the best camera phone out there. i downloaded many camera samples of xzs from several sites and compred with my frnds. s8 and found much better than s8. i also examined those sample and found no weakness. actually xzs or xzp the best camera phone out there. in low light you have tweak the settings manually and will get better photos comparable with s8 or g6. for video recording its the king and other just commoner! remember GSMA said xzp is even better than xzs.

And where I live p10 plus is a good 150 usd cheaper than xzp.
