HTC U11 vs. Samsung Galaxy S8+: Pixel Duel

24 May 2017
In this follow-up to the pick-a-flagship shootout from the weekend we take a close look at how the prominent absentee in that three-way contest - the HTC U11 - stacks up to the Galaxy S8+ camera.

As cameras, they are almost identical, but as phones, s8+ is much better, bigger battery and screen size in similar body size, and 3.5mm jack!

Really interesting, and I agree with almost all the article. But to say something in a slightly different way/words, it's a good news, because as the time passing by, gradually the flagship phones are becoming more similar (mostly in photography), and so you just can't go much wrong with either one you choose. Because generally speaking, mostly, all the flagships are good performers in photography.

AnonD-497816, 24 May 2017Galaxy s8+ way betterClearly this guy is a Samsung Fan. Although as per https://www.androidheadlines.com/2017/05/google-pixels-camera-beats-that-of-galaxy-s8-dxomark-says.html. The Google Pixel has a better camera than the S8 and S8 Plus. The HTC U11 rated a 90, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus only ranked an 88 as per dxomark. My Sony X Performance has the same rated camera as the S8 and S8 plus with a score of 88 and is $300 cheaper lol. Poor Samsung lol

There is no doubt that HTC has tremendously improved the camera of the HTC U11. I have been very happy with HTC 10 photos, but looking at those of the U11 in comparison with the Galaxy S8, it is clear that the latter is no longer the best smartphone camera available. I'll get the HTC U11!

This is much better the the u ultra and i hope they make a saphire version of it and uae real saphire like in the u ultra saphire version

Yes, never got a chance to say this, but these are the best low light samples I have seen. Just wish the dynamic range was a bit better, then it would be marvellous really. And on top of that Sense is basically miles ahead than Grace or whatever they are calling it now. Just the design of the U11 is terrible, mainly the material choice, otherwise this phone will rule others until the next Pixel comes out. Good job HTC and impatiently waiting for the full review.

HTC’s latest flagship is the first mobile device to receive a 90 from DxO while the Galaxy S8 gets the same score of 88 as the Galaxy S7 edge. Period! So HTC is the new boss!
