Sony was never a company to blindly follow trends, having its own approach to the mobile market. A fact perfectly illustrated by the company's latest flagship duo - the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact, which you only need to look at once to recognize the Xperia pedigree. The 2017 Sony flagships proper combine the best elements across the lineup to try and cut themselves a solid piece of the holiday sales pie.

              After 3 years XZ1 will still be 2700. A s8 will decrease from 3000 to 2700, 2600 or less after same 3 years.

                  The battery life is better...nice...the overheat while recording video is now gone on XZP and maybe XZ1 as well.

                      I learned my lesson and went straight for the oneplus 5 with a massive 3300mah and i get 6-8SOT. Crazy. i get 4-5Hours straight lpaying real racing 3 from 100% to 5% brigthness turned up to middle. imagine if power saver was on and dimed the screen more.
                      Sony phones were known to overheat and throttle like crazy, all the Z series.
                      Hopefully sony fixed that. i love sony, my first smartphone was a sony Xperia X8 and still works.

                          Sony headphones, PS pro, Sony Xperia Xz premium owner. Only one thing good about this phone if you bought Xz premium before you made perfect choice!

                          Sony wtf? Who the fuck needs Xz 1 when you just released Xz premium?

                          About review I love how all reviewers complain about 1080 p of Sony phones and saying:" others have bigger resolution " but when Sony making 4 k they starting to say "it's don't needed it's to mutch, you can't see the difference with human eye"...

                            Good Screen and Excellent Multimedia package from Sony.

                            3D creator looks enticing. The selfie camera with autofocus looks excellent. The main camera on the other is pretty decent/good, but you need the right setup for it to take excellent shots. In other words, it's not going to win any "best smartphone camera" awards.

                            Kudos to Sony for coming up with the first phone that runs the latest Android (Oreo) out of the box, even before the Pixels have come out (like the LG V20 last year). I also like how they are taking up people's criticism of their software and making active changes to it with each update.

                            I am pleasantly surprised by the good endurance of the XZ1 from "only" a 2700 mAh battery. Until 2014, Sony flagships had pretty good battery lives, but then the past couple of years things have been looking down with low capacities and even lower endurance ratings. Hopefully, things are back on track with the XZ1.

                              Front cam is above screen. X phones have a 1/3.06" sensor. It needs more space compared to Z phones. Also no more round corners, flat top/bottom make phone 1 or 2 mm bigger.

                              Fun thing it is the fact people do not complain about size of Huawei p10, moto z2 force, one plus 5, htc u11, mi6 but only Sony. All these phones have similar screen to body ratio. Between 68 and 73%.

But for me Sony's smartphone camera software is all about Manual Mode, it does the best. I don't really care about the Superior Auto Mode, I only care about it if I want to shoot daylight photos.

                                    it is way better to watch videos on xzp.
                                    xzp and xz1 have 138% sRGB, i bet not even v30 can reach that, while even with amoled s8 has 142%, just 3% higher than xzp.
                                    Sony adds own tech on JDI's screen like triluminous and quantum dots.

But i'm curious if with some updates the camera gets better since it has EIS ike the oneplus 5.
                                      The oneplus 5 had the same problem but after 5 updates the camera is on par with every flagships, only the samsung beating it in almost every condition.
