Wow that is some garbage sunlight contrast ratio numbers for Mate 10...... huge ass downgrade from Mate 9. Kindna hard to justify switching from Mate 9 to Mate 10. Mate 10 Pro would have looked a lot more attractive if not for no headphone jack....

Anyway, it has all welcome improvements for a top level in 2017 (Camera, Bezel-less, size reduction) without removing 3.5mm jack, 16:9 format, battery life, easy-accesible fingerprint reader. In my opinion it is the greatest surprise of 2017, I was confident that LG V30 or Pixel 2 XL would be a great substitution for my s7 edge byt after its prices and reviews...
I have used EMUI with nougat in a P9 and P10, and probably it is not a rocket like pixel or OP, but it is at the same level than Galaxy's Grace UX. It is very similar to MIUI with its apps for controlling app access, notifications, in background execution, etc.

The only near bezel less phone with 16:9 screen. And no wasting screen space with curved edges.

AnonD-96745, 29 Oct 2017Small sensor yes, but it performs good and one of the best ... moreI mean using all kinds of processing to make dslr like results is what I miss, they depend too much on using 2 sensors, but color one makes overal results bad. Pure W sensor results are great, but not enough for this colorful age. Again, would do better if they used r+g+b 3 sensors with same resolution, for that kind of processing. Not that its bad, its just not the best.

Never had a huawei, but i am thinking of switching from iphone 7 plus (previous phones in no particular order op3t, op5, edge7+,mi5). How is huawei/emui in terms of ram management, scrolling smoothness and overall performance?

S8+ does not have a bigger screen. Its just longer and usable area considering the on screen buttons is smaller. 18:9,5 aspect ratio with on screen buttons vs 16:9 with possibility to remove on screen buttons is actually no competition and only because of this i am leaning towards switching from iphone 7 plus, because i need that screen estate and with mate you actually do get an upgrade in screen size. With them 18:9/18:9.5 phones advertised screen sizes (6-6,2”) is just a gimmick and basically a cheat towards dumbass consumers who dont understand the aspect ratios, side bezels, on screen buttons, cropped/zoomed in videos to fit in and all other shit that is important to evaluate screen size and its actual usability.

- Reduced bezels.
- 5.9" high res screen in reduced size with 16:9 format.
- Kirin 970 in the top of high performers.
- Camera in the top 3 of this year.
- Keeping excellent battery life.
- Dual Sim option.
- Best fingerprint reader they have tested and in the best position of all flagship, in the front.
- Keeping 3.5 mm jack.
Probably from mate 9 it doesn't worth update, as it is from s7 edge to s8, but they do not have the emotion of seeing how a top product as mate 9 becomes even better in nate 10 and without removing any aspect of previous generation (which has happened with s8, note 8 with battery and fingerprint reader...)

[deleted post]Knock knock! In what age do u live man? Such an arrogant pathetic yet stupid. Why Huawei sales beat apple? Because people start to realize the quality of it for less dollar. I didnt say apple and samsung werent good, is just that for the same specs, features and quality people can get this beast. U just too arrogant to admit it.

What are the compatible LTE bands that this phone has? Will we be able to import it to the US and use it on GSM networks? I really want this phone and not the pro version

When mate 10 come out, near bezelless phone, world 1st cpu AI, new design, great bright camera over mate 9, then it says 'minor improvement over mate 9'. Wtf what about S7 to S8? Its about the same thing but story becomes differently when it comes to Huawei.
