Anonymous, 10 Nov 2017Overpriced.Not really, when everybody else produced worse phones than 2016 (S8 is worse than S7 in pretty much everything, G6 from G5, etc) Apple produced a phone that was twice as good as their last one.
They only priced it as highly because they can. Because the rest has dropped the ball. I mean Note 8 costs almost $1000 and is worse than Note 4 in certain central things FFS ... Obviously Apple would price their phone as highly.
Blame Android manufacturers who try to milk the consumers (Apple tries to too, but at least gives you value).

"it doesn't matter who did it first but who did it right"
apple may be late to implement those features, but lets take a look who did it first ,and then what happened? MESS
apple don't rush things like those half baked android features.
apple is innovation

Anonymous, 10 Nov 2017This phone takes overpricing to a whole new level. As consu... moreIt will reach the point when enough is enough...
But in the meantime, If X is still selling at fast rates, it's not your business to complaint about.
There's always law of demand and suppy, And perhaps in your opinion it is overpriced, keep it to yourself.
If you can't afford it, or you can afford it but you think it's crazy bla bla...you have a freedom not to buy, as others also have a freedom to determine for themselves.

This phone takes overpricing to a whole new level. As consumers, we should not be telling these bloodsucking companies that yes, your pricing is reasonable, we will buy your phone no matter the price as long as the tech is the best. A clear message needs to be sent that enough is enough, prices have headed northwards for quite a while and there is a limit to how much you can overcharge us.

jtrogr, 09 Nov 2017Nah. Its just funny that to see people bash all the time.
... moreSo you are saying the iPhone X is like a Ferrari and that Android flagships are like a Honda/Toyota? You are seriously wrong! Here's a better comparison: iPhone X is like a fancy, gold plated nail trimmer, made of stainless steel that looks gorgeously expensive, but actually costs less to produce being
also made in China but is well promoted as status symbol by celebrities and priced sky high with the impression it is 'US made'. Android flagships are like stainless steel Swiss Army knives that don't only trim or cut nails but do many other functions as well because of flexibility and a whole lot more useful features to boot. Now Android users don't care if iphone buyers want to waste money on a status symbol iphone. It's when iphone owners claim that the iphone is worth the price and that it is the bestest phone in the entire world/universe in all aspects (photo, video, battery life, etc.) that you expect a heated response. Deal with it. The truly rich do not have time and don't care about the negative comments in gsmarena. For them, an iPhone X is a status symbol and they would even be happier if the price increases some more so as to separate the truly rich from the pretending to be rich (who by the way, are the most vocal iphone defenders in gsmarena).

Hoffmann, 09 Nov 2017Except the processor, other things are just OK!Yeah, every phone has a mini-kinect installed on top. Every phone has the capacity of "sight navigation" ... oh wait no phone has that and once Apple would enable you to control your phone with your freaking eyes everybody else would be holding their d*ck...
What an underwhelming release, iPhone X is, it merely starts the second wave of smartphone craze
(btw it reminds me how lukewarm was the acceptance of the original iphone, yeah it started the current era of personal computers, but techies of the time had no idea, such short-sighted people)

Verne, 09 Nov 2017The revolution is not having to deal with the tangle of wir... moreYeah. Revolution is buying $150 earphones that have batteries you need to recharge every 5 hours of use wasting more electricity (and likely self-discharge when not it use), and when they're no longer able to hold a charge you throw them out creating more e-waste.
Compare that to wired earphones that only use electricity when in use, and will last longer than Airpods if taken care of properly.

So what's the actual screen size, resolution, and PPI then? The spec sheet has the official stuff but not what it actually is in reality.

[deleted post]Gsmarenas score is pretty inaccurate for real life use, more of a score than an expectation. The sliders is there to put in your use, but should be extended past 4 hours.
This is good for varied use with no web browsing, but include that and it'll fall towards small iphone 8 longevity according to phonearenas test.
If you browse mainly, 8+ is better.

Bbm, 09 Nov 2017Do you blackberry os? The first and best swipe-systemNot a mass-market release. Nobody I know knows what a blackberry OS. Very few use one.
In that sense I too had gesture control in my basement (using GMD gestures). Apple is the first mass market company to do it ... peace.

One of your team could have read or searched about sync-flash to just understand how it works. It is not that the X has a low power flash.
The X, seemingly has a low powered flash, is trying to balance the light from the flash to the background. Most of the time, it will be low power unless there is a spotlight or sun behind your subject.
If the the LED flash will be set at full power, there will be so much light to your model that the camera will close its shutter so soon that the background or other light sources will appear dark in the photo.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2017You still don't get it. Nobody stops you from using bluetoo... moreNonsense. I have an adapter installed on my 3.5mm headphobes and they work just fine with any usb c phone (yeah I don't own a iphone ... but same principle).
The hate against the extinction of 3.5mm is too much over too little. It had to go, it made the phone bigger for no reason. Universal ports would always be better...

Haha don't people read the actual review instead of only seeing the negative.. Hard to be critical when your bias from the beginning
Yes Apple products will always be overpriced and overhyped.. But personal opinion should really be left out of professional reviews imo.
I also have a hard time swallowing that statement as the iPhone X finally catches up with lastest tech hardware and then some for what a couple hundred more than their competitors.. All manufacturers flagships are expensive, period.
The key findings in the review, one of the best screens if not the best, the fastest chip, some of the best stereo speakers, top camera, apples usual top notch build quality
, the list continues
Apples always had the best ecosystem and user experience yeah it sounds like it may need some fine tuning but I'm sure it's far from bad and I'm sure no worse than most flagship androids just not Apple standard which again has always been the best by far
And all these can be fixed with OS updates, hardware issues cannot...
Wasn't it not long ago android purists hated for apple being behind in hardware.. Now their in the forefront...
User experience? Unless it isnt running ios11 I'm sure will be more than OK calm down, now u guys are clutching at straws
Haven't used ios in years finally heading back For in my opinion, good reason.

ithehappy, 09 Nov 2017God if this phone ran Android 8.1 or something like that it... moreOne of the most annoying things about this (which you can't fix with installing Android) is this issue; this phone can't handle "cold" weathers too well, so the screen apparently starts to require multiple touches just to type a single letter. Many people on Reddit complain that even sub-7c's (~44.6F) is enough to make the screen not working too well or at all.
God help those people who happen to get stranded in a cold -30c day (due to a snow-storm, for example) and the only phone they could use to call for help is an iPhone X... It won't work and so you're pretty much screwed up. Well done, Apple. All my Android's have worked in -35c temperatures pretty well (previous phone was a Nexus 6, I could answer and make phone calls in -35c temp last winter), so at least they won't let you down in a bad situation. Dangerous phone.
