OnePlus 5T review

20 November 2017
The OnePlus 5T is the mid-season substitute to the company's flagship (and, as of late, only) smartphone. The T doesn't bring radical changes - on the contrary; it's a minor update to help the 5 stay in fashion and, as a side effect, why not spark up buzz right in time for holiday shopping.

AnonD-717184, 21 Nov 2017Sorry but with what happened to Note 7, I don't trust them ... moreSorry, but what happened to Meitu app when revealed it collected too much private data? People don't trust it anymore, deleted it and forget about it. But why people forgive OnePlus for even worst things?

AnonD-368020, 20 Nov 2017I think it's camera performance will improve over the time ... moreProblem is OnePlus team do not provide any significant update to improve camera. They rather concentrate on the next flagship. We end up waiting for a camera update and then suddenly they release a new one in next 4, 5 months.
    Sad.

@Pramod - No i dont think the camera will improve by much , at the most you will get 10% - 15% more improvement over 5 camera ( You OP3 had OIS , this one does not have that hence even the 16MP Quality has degraded ) Right when the phone was launched the first thing i commented here was camera will be good ( No way Flagship ) - i took a swipe at DxoMark for OP5 results , the OP5t night shot feel like its shot on a single cam. module , heck even Pixel 2 betters OP5t despite one camera that to with smaller sensor compared to Pixel 1. Even s8 , s7 is better in night shots , the issue is also with the 20MP sensor , at 1 microns its pixel size is very small to produce good results even with 4 pixels (5MP) at night. They should have used at least 2 x IMX 398 ( 16MP) instead of that 20MP , with 16MP setup.

Right now , its proved beyond doubt Oppo is Owner of OnePlus or at least Oppo has lot of say in OnePlus design / camera.

I would happily buy this phone if it had a better camera combination. I really like what LG and Huawei been doing in the camera department. Oh well, let's hope that OnePlus will do better next year. This year hasn't been great for them.

i have the oneplus 5. After seeing that GSMarena mentionned it heats up when running a couple of benchmarks, the cpu throttles down. The battery life is significantly reduced, because of the bigger screen, we're seeing here a 1Hour decrease overall, in every test.
The soundspeaker db strenght is also reduced.
That's why i was hoping for at least a 3400-3500mah battery with that screen. I was scared of the thermal issues the phone would have and i was right. There's thermal throttling because of the poor space management

You'd think band 13 would be the norm by now, but it somehow still isn't.

Reasons : Better battery life (According to most reviews Razer has horrific SoT - not that good for games when you phone dies on you is it ?)
AMOLED screen that has decent brightness and great sunlight legibility . Razer screen might be smooth but it won't look as nice as an AMOLED .
