Kiyasuriin, 10 Mar 2018You need to remember (and I have the S9). The M3 preforms n... moreIt only indicates that they didn't fully optimize the architechture. Twice as powerful for the cost of battery life.
But it's nice that they've chosen what's more important, which is performance, because we are now in the era where battery life in a smartphone is hardly a concern. We carry power banks everywhere and chargers charge our phones so quickly. Running out of juice is just a matter of forgetness.
But hey, 78h ain't that bad really.

Vic, 10 Mar 2018Lots of noise in low light is a family disease of Sony phon... moreYes, but this time, the noise is joined by excellent level of details, which makes it hard not to like.
I mean, old ones were noisy and muddy with not-so-good details, but this time, we now have high level of details.
For such tiny sensors, these images are fantastic. And you have to consider that the XZ2 doesn't have any OIS, narrower aperture opening, and has smaller pixel size. Taking a picture that is noisier is expected, but more detailed one is not something to be expected with the XZ2.

I hope they can update the software so that standby time improves and it can top the S8.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a lot cheaper now, great alternatives for this S9, check out comments on mate 10 pro thread, all of them very happy using it especially ex-user S8 and note series. Forget the no jacks, bluetooth earpiece can found everywhere cheap with good quality now.
Off topics, theres a mentioned about Xperia XZ2 improving in low lights, check it, and damn! Thats an impressive results despite dont use OIS, the sony claim about improving bionz chipset is real!

From the camera comparison tool, it seems clearly that S8 has produced clearer and sharper results in low light conditions in comparison with S9.
I wonder if this has to do something with the people who took the shots or it is just the S8's camera better? So far all newer S versions have had better low light results than the previous versions.
You can check the fish in low light and the details on the banknotes here https://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?idType=5&idPhone1=8966&idPhone2=8161&idPhone3=8858

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2018The most under whelming batery life for 800 dolar phone in ... moreLet me ask u a question, does this battery life proof your OWN battery life from day to day usage? This is just a rough idea of how it will perform in terms of battery life, it is different from your own usage. Maybe your own battery life is better than this, or even worse than this, I don't know, but what comes down to the fact is that the one thing that affects battery life is how u use it. If u are a user who uses it intensively for power hungry apps especially games for long periods of time, good luck to u...

got the s9 since Thursday. Comparing to 2,5 year S6 edge it's a massive boost in battery life ;) Hearing some rumors about the weak audio chipset checked the sound quality with iPad pro 9,7 and s6e. At first the quality terrified me, but occurred that the dolby atmos was on. after turning off the sound is quite ok. I have weak z300 sony headphones.

Color me unimpressed with the battery life. I think the S10 needs to finally make a big push in the battery department. We have been languishing around the 3000 mAh mark forever.
But otherwise, it's a pretty capabale and well-refined phone. Camera, Software, Performance & many other things are awesome. What it makes it even better is that it doesn't pick up some of the latest non-sense fads like ugly screen notch and no 3.5 mm jack. Stereo speakers are welcome, too.

speakers only topped with HTC u11 family and there is actually a headphones jack, i wont buy a phone this year (hopefully) but i think it is already the phone of the year, Still waiting for HTC but with phones focused on sound they are inresponsible not to include 3.5mm jack.

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2018if the picture of the sony isnt soft or blurry, does it mat... moreFaster shuttle speed (I'm not saying fast, note I said faster) is very important.
Most people don't have tripod with them. They rely on hand. The threshold shuttle speed of taking a stable shot for most people is 1/focal length. Not to mention sometimes people move, kids run etc which make it impossible for you to have shuttle speed that is too low. If you carrying a tripod with you everywhere you go good for you. For most people, that is not and will not be the case. S9 will be the go to choice.

Anonymous, 10 Mar 2018The removable battery is the most important. S9 should have it.That's what is important to you and not so for most users. Stick to what you love then

SohailSays, 10 Mar 2018S8- 84h. S9- 78h. What samsung?! What?!You need to remember (and I have the S9). The M3 preforms nearly as twice as better than the M2 core. So due to the big preformance leap. The endurance has suffered a bit.
