Samsung Galaxy S9 review

09 March 2018
It's true what they say - you don't fix what's not broken. And that's what Samsung did for the Galaxy S9 - it didn't change what was already great, it just tweaked specs wherever possible. And it has worked out just fine for them.

want to buy this now..not an upgrade.. first flagship.. anything should i be concerned about without the late software update and battery ?

Before you make a decision on the purchase of samsung product,

keep in mind that samsung intentionally deferred the capacity expansion of DRAM production , even though demands for DRAM have been increased significantly .

Samsung just wanted to make huge profits by using supply shortages, while customers from many sectors suffered from the increased cost of DRAM.

Imagine if Intel intentionally reduce the CPU production for their profit......

Samsung should be judged for their unethical behavior.

Realistic1, 05 Sep 2018If you have S8 it's probably not worth it to go for S9, and... moreOn the S9 & S9+ you can remap the Bixby button to launch different apps or actions, there's an app called bxActions.
There's also been a bit of a backlash with the Bixby button on the Note 9 as this is currently more difficult, discussions with Samsung are happening right now, and we'll know more by the end of this month:
          https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_may_let_you_disable_the_galaxy_note9s_bixby_button_by_the_end_of_the_month-news-33080.php

If you have S8 it's probably not worth it to go for S9, and S9+ is whole other story tho.
Samsung should also make phones that don't slow down so fast. And with less deisgn problems (Bixby) or at least actually listen their customers and allow them to reprogram Bixby button for something else.
S9 at least has better fingerprint scanner position, and stereo speakers.
            And iris scanner is useless.

Samsung claims they listen to their customers by not adding a notch, or removing headphone jack and SD slot... yet Bixby is still here...

Exynos chipset has more peak performance but sustainable performance is shit.
                Just like Apple A11.
Meanwhile Qualcomm has learned something from QSD 810 fiasco and they prioritize sustainable performance and developed far better co-processor like ISP, DSP, DAC and Neural Engine.
We'll never see QSD jump to 3500 geekbench single-core score in the future.

Since the S6, only the S7 had stuck with the flat screen. Wish that they new Galaxy series from the S8 forward would offer that option. Much better to work with than those stupid curved edges.

Samsung , either you add a better GPU design or simply buy a license from snapdragon for the GPU

20% less GPU performance is not acceptable when Apple is already faster than snapdragon , your Graphics run at half speed of Apple last Gen , and the next Gen is a month away

Sonu , 30 Jul 2018Very bad quality totally waste the money (Problm) heat up ... morenot sure why you are complaining about the heating issue. i have a s9+ and from past few days im playing the Asphalt Legends for continously 2 hours and my phone doesn't heat up but gets luke warmed up. im on the exynos one, are you on the snapdragon?

                                  Still me, posted bellow 2posts

I got the phone yesterday afternoon and these are my first impressions

Ok so I played asphalt xrally at max gfx and few more casual games, browsed a bit, watched few yt videos, FB a bit, listened to a lot of music (on speakers, bluetooth and headphones), tested camera more and so far I got 5hrs OST and 25% battery left.

Overnight it used 2-3% battery, I enabled normal power saving just in case.

AOD is set manually from 10am-23pm, turns off at night. Although I enabled AOD off by battery save.

So far it's a very solid performer, it's a duo exynos version, 64GB.

Phone is ok, got a confirmation from a user owning it for a while it doesn't break like that easily.

Does camera glass really shatter/break quick or out of nowhere?

I was looking at Samsung US q&a the other day, for problems and stuff and saw this shocking thread :/

Is this a common thing or where those just clumsy and or a bad batch of phones??

I was interested in a S9 but when I visited the Samsung site I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews by S9 owners. Too bad, with it's trade in offer it could have been a good deal.
