Samsung Galaxy S9 review

09 March 2018
It's true what they say - you don't fix what's not broken. And that's what Samsung did for the Galaxy S9 - it didn't change what was already great, it just tweaked specs wherever possible. And it has worked out just fine for them.

Still me, posted bellow 2posts

I got the phone yesterday afternoon and these are my first impressions

Ok so I played asphalt xrally at max gfx and few more casual games, browsed a bit, watched few yt videos, FB a bit, listened to a lot of music (on speakers, bluetooth and headphones), tested camera more and so far I got 5hrs OST and 25% battery left.

Overnight it used 2-3% battery, I enabled normal power saving just in case.

AOD is set manually from 10am-23pm, turns off at night. Although I enabled AOD off by battery save.

So far it's a very solid performer, it's a duo exynos version, 64GB.

Anonymous, 25 Jul 2018 I'm in process of buying a new S9 Does camera glass ... moreOk nvm, those were just clumsy users and tried to blame and get away with it.

Phone is ok, got a confirmation from a user owning it for a while it doesn't break like that easily.

I'm in process of buying a new S9

Does camera glass really shatter/break quick or out of nowhere?

I was looking at Samsung US q&a the other day, for problems and stuff and saw this shocking thread :/

I was interested in a S9 but when I visited the Samsung site I was surprised by the amount of negative reviews by S9 owners. Too bad, with it's trade in offer it could have been a good deal.

Jerez half of you sound like you donk know how to use phones, I've had mine for 3 months and it has been nothing but a pleasure to use, barely beats up, sounds amazing and is the fastest phone I've ever used. Learn to use android, it's not like iPhones, you gotta maintain the phone, and if your using your phone for 10 hrs and complaining about battery you need to get off your phone and try that thing called life. Smh.

well to be really honest, i skipped s8 from s7 and jumped to s9. And i must say i am really disappointed. the phone battery sucks big time. even with minimal usage it doesn't go 10hours striaght. what good is a phone if you cant do anything with it. Now i ll think outside samsung ! You disappoint me !

Don't buy #GalaxyS9. I bought on 22nd May in India, the screen broke despite cover with just a 3 feet fall. Funny thing's @samsungmobile is giving offer to replace screen @ Rs.1999 if bought between 1st - 30th Jun. (A) They know screen is fragile n break in a month (B) Why not provide the same offer for a month old. #GalaxyS9. Screen will now cost me one third the price of this brand new phone. Avoid #GalaxyS9 and don’t buy if free screen replacement offer isn’t there.

Internet shows that s9 is water resistance which can stay 1.5m for 30 minutes in water. But for unknown reason moisture is accumulated and now its not working( not getting charged). Its better to use Vivo or oppo rather than investing so much in Samsung. Ref no. 4261495012

Vik, 22 May 2018Do anybody face heating problem while playing high graphics... moreAll electronic gaming devices heat up during intense GPU workloads, yes the device will get hot, but not hot to the point where you cant touch it, if you play on a console you will notice the same thing you dont realise this because you are not holding it in your hands..

Anonymous, 09 May 2018NO no no this is to big this is huge this is terible it is ... moreLol, no it's not too big, it's definitely pocketable (you can sit down with it in your pocket), actually try it out for size (don't just go off measurements).
Yes, these models shouldn't get any taller than they are already.

You could phone Samsung regarding minis, it looks like they're available in China:

The curved screen is a pain in the neck. I do think it looks nice, but come on --- I am tired of it!!!
Samsung should offer a good phone with a flat screen. They can also curve the screen on the bottom and top of the phone (not on the sides exactly where you grab it).

As I've said on this forum previously,
I don't understand & get frustrated at some of Samsung's decisions on removing preferable/ beneficial aspects of their flagship line.

Yes, Samsung's flagship S line should definitely have a replacement battery!
Consumers could then go ahead & buy with confidence.
It should've had at least a 3,500mAh or a 4,000 mAh battery like the S9 Active:
                                        https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9_active-9177.php

Maybe it's a cost saving/ profit making exercise, but the fact is they would sell loads more units if it was replaceable, if I were Samsung I'd save money by getting rid of whoever comes up with these decisions : ) which have a detrimental effect on the rest of us.

Consumers shouldn't have to run the gauntlet of getting a replacement Samsung battery that isn't a fake, then melt the glue on their phone with a heatgun to disassemble their phone compromising the IP68, just to replace the battery!
