What we could mention, is the heavy, and we mean heavy, purple fringing. A likely result from the large sensor and subsequent compromises in optics, plus the specific way in which the sensor operates, the chromatic aberrations are nearly ubiquitous, and are obviously not fixable in processing - we can't imagine Huawei has missed them.

I think you dont understand elements of photography! Do some research

There is no better 40mp output with better colors, less noise and all that software tricks, its 10mp. Sheep acting like a wolf.

So whats the Huawei's performance lacks? Its a flagship phone, + got a thing that no other phones offer, so whats your point? Come said something about Huawei's weakness, i'll answer about it accordingly. I'll own several flagship branded phones previously, but now that i use huawei, i'll stick with it. Oh yeah later on Mate 20 will be using Kirin 980 by this year, and scores in antutu got +100k more than Snapdragon 845. Dare to call scamsung and appl3 cheap performance after that?

Please to those guys who are finding it hard to accept p20 pro is a great shooter and has set the bar high for smartphones photography just because it's a Chinese company and not your Samsung, iphone or pixel phone, I just want to remind you other companies are working so hard too just like Huawei and they have proven in changing the smartphone game!. I just like how Huawei have found a way to balance their flagships in the most important departments i.e performance, display, battery and camera! Where most competing flagship fail to accomplish. Am that guy who will always appreciate when something is good and Huawei as a company has done a marvelous job with the p20 series.

vrvly, 14 Apr 2018They are about the same or lags with 10mp(in colors,exposur... moreI don't really see your point, if it can take a photo with accurate color reproduction, white balance, exposure & DR, low noise and decent amount of details across all lighting conditions, doesn't it mean it is a great still shooter? Why do you have to be so negative about this phone's photo quality when it is so great and full of features? Are you disappointed because this phone can capture 40MP images but in default it outputs in lower resolution? That's what Lumia 1020 and Nokia 808 PV do as well but seems like nobody bats an eye on them.
I understand video isn't excellent, and it really isn't for 2018 flagship smartphone(hopefully Huawei will fix this in Mate 20), but there is nothing to hate about its photo quality.

Compare camera quality from photos of the old... moreObviously an image with higher resolution contains more details(though stronger sharpening on V10 is definitely helping)... in default P20 Pro only produces 10MP photos while V10 does 16MP, and also P20 Pro's lens has wider field of view, and as far as I can see with AI turned off it is doing a decent job of capturing details. And as for low-light shots, again, just take a look at those taken using normal mode, not night mode. V20 wouldn't stand a chance against new flagships especially in nighttime photography!

Very ''great'' work of dxo guys, though overal score not count visible quality(amount of detail in main usable in every situation mode- Mp, hdr in auto - compare here in gsma tool, balanced colors - not too much with AI or too little without, wont comment video as it looks terrible). Not to forget audio recording is not tested by anyone, you wont get much from simple video recording to test visual quality.
Sure its great for those who prefer zooming, shooting bokeh, sharing low in res but colory shots,...

The night shots look incredible to me, but the daytime shots are very grainy. This is more of a night shot camera phone.

No doubt Huawei did really create a very good camera phone it's expensive that's for sure but at the same time is good to see something different and fresh, a LOT of people in the comment section are hating really hard and as many others have said if you don't like just don't buy it, if you are certain that the phone is "bad" let the people who bought it to raise their voice, is that peoples opinion the one that really matters, not the one of the those just complaining about what's wrong with the phone isn't ?
