vivo NEX S and NEX A hands-on review

12 June 2018
It's rare to see a concept device go into mass production without losing its coolest feature. The vivo NEX does just that and it even comes in two versions, NEX S and NEX A, so you can have the bleeding edge or the more affordable alternative.

Everyone loves to join the popular bandwagon (notches, slim design, etc.) even if they (the company copying everything) are not the ones who made it first.

Anonymous, 14 Jun 2018Just another iPhone X copy made "affordable" for the masses... moreCopy from Iphone X " are you sleeping" Iphone X itself is a copy of " Essential PH-1" .... so don't compare other bands... all are same copy from every ware.... but this company made it by innovating the Inbuilt finger printer..... where's so called tech leaders Sam& Apple not even dream about it.
So in the technology new innovations are airways welcome.

Just another iPhone X copy made "affordable" for the masses. All design elements stolen from other designers' work, so this company just copy-pasted a design and slapped their branding on it. Oh, and downgraded the sound quality and overly-complicated the camera with that pop-up tray (which looks horrible to say the least).

Are there any original and successful Android phone manufacturers out there? Someone that comes up with their own design and technologies, while also making their products appealing? And not 'appealing' by selling them at a low, low price. I'm talking about appealing as in attractive design, attractive user experience, custom hardware, etc. You know, ORIGINAL.

I love the notchless bezeless design and also the sliding camera, but would prefer iris scanner over UD FP scanner in a smaller 5.5" 📱 phone with stereo speakers.

Vivo NEX is something Apple can copy (and their fans can boast "proper implementation" later) by adding $800 to the price tag sell it as X+++ etc.

Of late, I see many Android mid-range offer best value for money. They may miss IP68/67 & wireless charging but otherwise matching every other aspects for 1/3 or 1/4(in case of IPX)

the Japanese had used this behind the screen earpiece speaker 'technology' since 2013, and my previous phone (Sharp Aquos Crystal X) had one too...

its actually okay, considering you can use any part of the screen when handling a call over the phone... only thing is, in noisy environment, you'll have to stick your ears tight to the screen...

Looks fresh compared to the many notched iphone X clones flooding the Android flagship and midrange market right now. Good decision by Vivo not to have those worthless curved edges in other phones too, as they only add to increased fragility in an already fragile bezel-less design. Great decision too as regards the big 4000mAh battery. Definitely a better buy than the overpriced Pixel, Samsung and Huawei flagship phones currently being sold. Good thing Vivo decided to have a retractable selfie camera over the worthless waterproofing feature.

Great job on roasting iPhone X's Notch!
Seriously, this phone is worth buying for.
