LG G7 ThinQ review

03 July 2018
LG is finally releasing a G-series phone with the latest Snapdragon - yay! Regardless whether we have some supply chain optimization or LG's product planning to thank, the fact of the matter is the G7 ThinQ is now available internationally and it's a proper high-end device.

LG G7 ThinQ is proper high-end device indeed. But I think its brother, the LG V35 ThinQ seem more like a premium version of G7. More expensive too.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2018its the same price as a much superior S9. What is LG thinking ?"superior S9"
          It's just your opinion ffs.
Of course you will be biased since you think that way. Looking in general, both are great in their own ways, and it's not like the G7 ThinQ doesn't deserve its price, considering it also have some good things that your so-called "superior S9" doesn't.

Anonymous, 05 Jul 20183,000 mAH battery + no stereo speakers = forget it.Battery can be two things; small but well-optimized to last long or big but unoptimized for the phone

Speaker can be two things: single mono but loud and great-sounding or dual stereo but quiet and not that good quality for such a setup

Sadly, this phone gets the two latters

I approve this for my dad has one, and it has an incredible speaker that definitely sounds good, not only for its price, but basically as a smartphone speaker.
Compared to my Redmi 5 Plus, it sounds nearly identical, maybe my phone is slightly clearer but slightly quieter, and my phone already competes well with a flagship speaker, specifically the Galaxy S8 (TechUtopia, if I remember, compared the S8's speaker to the Redmi 5 Plus, and maybe even to the Mi A1).

As for the G7 ThinQ, I don't doubt that it sounds really great. It's a flagship phone after all, and such quality is just right to be expected. My sister had a G4 in the past and its speaker was also loud and great-sounding, but since then they never really did much better until this G7 ThinQ.

stil happy with my v30 which i find better in many ways honestly.

I tested G7 out in the store and holy cow, this phone has easily the best speaker I've ever heard. Too bad that the Boombox becomes only active when it is placed on a flat surface, otherwise it sounds quite a lot worse or even tinnier than any other flagships with a normal speaker (I was surprised to find out that it's actually worse than Galaxy S8 when you're holding it in your hand). But still, even in that state, it would be better than your Mi for sure.

"but when it comes to the camera - the P20 Pro is a king in what it does."

No. Just no. The P20 Pro IS indeed a very good camera phone, it has some nice features like the 3x/5x zoom, but by no means is it that much better than the competition as to be worthy of the title of "king". NO.
