LG G8 ThinQ review

09 April 2019
Even though the name states otherwise, the G8 ThinQ is actually a minor hardware refresh of last year’s LG G7 ThinQ. Sure, it has the brand new Snapdragon 855 behind the wheel and a couple of neat (kind of) software and hardware features. But are they enough to battle the newly released Galaxy S10 trio or even the Huawei P30-series? After all, both Huawei and Samsung went along with not one but a couple of cutting-edge awe-inspiring features.

When will lg release this phone in europe

Note to LG: please release a genuine competitor to the S10e in the nearest future.

Wow LG still make smartphone... that no one will buy.

Suck.. No improvement since they use the crap name thinq.

          Please drop that crap name

After V30 and G6, Lg is going to hell with their phone design!

The LG G8s ThinQ (the model with 3 cameras at the back) will be available in the European market. It's confirmed.

Personally as a Traveller I find ultra wide more important for shooting the beautiful landscapes rather than the Telephoto. Different people different tastes. But it's better when phones have both.

Don't dramatized it out of context.... honesty lol.

LG doesn’t want to spent money in development of there hardware especially camera since they don’t have that much demand.

Kriegsherr, 11 Apr 2019I have used LG phone before. They are slow with updates but... moreTrue. Stability is more peaceful than frequent updates and associated knick knacks to put up with. I've been on V20 since Dec 2016. Came with Nougat then. No HW or SW issues. Consumes all applications I throw at it, very fluid, one of the best phone cameras, never gives up on me. Only gripe after an year was battery life and I got 2 extended batteries, a 6400mAh replaceable and another 5000mAh doc-able power bank so I can charge original one when needed and remove it from the doc to enjoy slim phone. That's pretty much I invested on it. I'm typing it on V20. Fluid as ever.

Inspite of having the same main camera as Samsung still LG is not able to match Samsung's camera performance. Also sad that the stereo speaker setup on this is not up there with others. Now hope at least LG fixes their image processing with the V50 to match Samsung's level and hope the stereo speaker setup is good. LG already has a better ultrawide camera than the S10. Now hope they improve the processing on the main camera and the Telephoto on the V50. The smartphone industry needs more of the brands like LG, Sony and HTC along with Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Google. It was great years back when all these brands had a great flagship with some unique offerings without skimping on other important features. Best of luck LG with the V50, Sony with the Xperia 1 and hope HTC, Moto and Nokia bring something competitive too.

I would say review is perfect except for the audio performance you mentioned , i think it might be a software bug like tuning of speaker or settings or defective piece .. Because lg phones has always been very good at audio .. I'm glad lg has upgraded it's camera game .. In tmobile price is 620 usd and with trade in of your old lg g6 or lg v30 . you can get this phone for 310 usd or if you're from at&t and if you take a new line you can get the phone for free and unlocked model from b&h is offering it for 700 usd .. Which makes the best value for price

As an LG V30+ owner I must say it does look semi-decent, but considering my LG software experience a lot of things would have to change for me to even consider repeating the mistake of buying LG phone again.

For $610 on tmobile is a good buy. Above average battery is good. Not too bad. Unless u r a gamer.
