Samsung Galaxy A40 review

Jun1250, 30 Apr 2019I think this is the successor of the Galaxy A5 from 2016/20... moreThe a8 2018 was the successor to the a5 2017 and that had a glass and metal build with ip68. I imagine A50 is the successor to the a8. A40 maybe follow up to the a3 2017 as it's the only compact a series phone. I to disappointed with the regression to plastic bodies and no ip68.

Sito, 30 Apr 2019Does the screen has Gorilla Glass? The real question is...

Does it scratch at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7?

no OIS in a 200 dollar phone? what about no ois in a 600 dollar phone aka Nokia shitty 9.

So it has 13mpix camera or 16mpix camera? If you could fix that on page 5

Shanti Dope, 30 Apr 2019You don't do the list of sunlight legibility scores anymore... moreWe are retiring the screen legibility test (a.k.a. contrast ratio in bright light) as we've noticed several patterns. (1)The numbers were hard to explain to an average person (outside of the obvious more is better); (2) All phones we tested in the past couple of years were already good beyond a point where you can easily point a bad performer so this became less of a purchase deciding factor; (3) OLEDS are predictively better than LCDs but not by such a huge margin so as that matters much (4) There wasn't such a big variation inside the pool of tested OLEDs and inside the pool of tested LCDs.
So we got to the point where the test didn't make sense anymore as the results became too predictable and not really important as a factor when making your purchase decision.

I don't understand the battery life score. How can the s10e with same battery and much more powerful processor score better battery life. Something don't ad up. The exynos 7885 is very battery efficient like seen on a7 (2018)

The very last time I saw it was from ths Nokia 9 PureView's review, where it was the highest-scoring in this generation, blowing the iPhones and the long-time standing 808 PureView by some margin.

very good but no AOD sorry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the successor of the Galaxy A5 from 2016/2017. The endurance rating seems a little off as I'm pretty sure this would last a little longer on video playback, also might wanna use Night Mode on Samsung's browser to lengthen the life for web browsing

One thing for sure, this is for people who want a real "phone", not for gamers nor power users. Hope they improve the build next year because the A5 2017 had a glass sandwich, aluminium frame and even IP68 at the same price
