OnePlus 7 Pro review

14 May 2019
OnePlus has always sort of been a niche enthusiast's smartphone brand which may not be as popular as the majors, but it's carved a pretty nice niche for itself by delivering great smartphone hardware at equally great price points.

another superb product that will surely compete with the likes of Infinix and Tecno

People crying about no SD card are ridiculous with the amount of storage this offers , also SD cards would slow it down and make it crash prone.

Anonymous, 14 May 2019Thanks for the laugh sir !Laugh about what exactly? That OnePlus is charging same money as for S10 BUT STILL can't deliver wireless charging, NEITHER a headphone jack, NEITHER slot for SD cards, NEITHER premium IP68 build quality, and even have the audacity to not even throw in earphones for the flagship price?

Really pathetic from OnePlus. They died when they came up with the 'IP certificate costs too much' bullsh*ttery. IP certificate is 99% premium build cost and 1% certificate testing cost.

For that price I'd prefer something better. Or the same but cheaper. Huawei mate 20, Honor view 20 or Xiaomi mi 9 - all of them better or even much cheaper. And all of them looking like art against of garbage.

Lol ... When other Chinese brands released phones with pop up cameras, everybody complained about it, about the mechanic problems or with the dust. Also, more than 200g and a thickness of 8,8 mm. Too much marketing. Let's see what Honor can do

Gotta love how they don't even include the audio adapters anymore. F U One+.

sohail shafayat, 14 May 2019S10 is smaller, poor battery life and poor camera performan... moreYes, Smaller and convenient. Agree on the battery life, definitely better cameras.
Most of all better brand value and service.

One phone to rule them all!!

[deleted post]They know nothing. Otherwise tech sites would hire them.
Worse part is when they talk about photo quality, despite having no knowledge.

"The OnePlus 7 Pro does not come with a 3.5mm to USB-C headphone jack and still doesn't come with a pair of earbuds."

Why not bring back the jack as STANDARD in the 1st place?! Place it on the top as i can see some SPACE for that!!

"We have to note that since our 7 Pro unit didn't have a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in its retail package, we used the passive adapter from the OnePlus 6T box. If you get an active adapter, the results won't be representative because they will very much depend on the DAC in the adapter."

Same answer as above.

"This dual SIM tray is a first for OnePlus. To save space, this tray is double-sided so you can place a nanoSIM on either side of it and slide it in for dual lines. The tray does not support expandable memory."

Why not make the other side of the tray to be hybrid AT LEAST to support expandable memory?!

"Do you see why OnePlus didn't include an SD card slot?"

Because they are "slower" which is a fact but still disappointed OnePlus has NEVER included that as STANDARD & CHOICE since the beginning of OnePlus except OnePlus X.

Let me improve this below:

Cons
-No official water resistance rating
-No wireless charging
-No headphone jack
-Non-expandable storage
-Does not include earbuds or a 3.5mm audio adapter
-Wide-angle camera falls short
-Still OVERPRICED$$ for the lack of essentials even when the PROS portion we said is "competitive"
