OnePlus 7 Pro review

14 May 2019
OnePlus has always sort of been a niche enthusiast's smartphone brand which may not be as popular as the majors, but it's carved a pretty nice niche for itself by delivering great smartphone hardware at equally great price points.

Sort by:

Oneplus is ripping money while delivering a poor device. A phone with so many cons and few pros asking for top price. Oneplus will never be apple or Samsung. They will live under the shadow of great companies.

Anonymous, 14 May 2019so much cons this phone is worth at most 400euro. not more ... moreSad but true

Anonymous, 14 May 2019Agree with you and hope android OEM’s keep SD card for low ... moreWith microSD cards now in 1000 GB territory, it's hard to justify paying premium prices on a phone that's forever stuck with 128GB. 128GB is plenty of fast storage for app code/data but it won't let you carry a phone on vacation as a laptop replacement.

so much cons this phone is worth at most 400euro. not more lol... what a joke OP is... rips off customers only

One thing that i do find impressive is that they managed to make it water resistant (without IP certification, but still). You can find videos online of people dumping it in the water with no apparent issues. That is impressive for a phone that has moving parts (pop-up camera).

It probably won't be as resistant as other flagships, but it is good to know that it should survive in the rain & after accidental drops in the water.

Looks a smart device. Nice screen. Great specs. Let down by average camera. Sorry Sony. But when you have Huawei P20 pro mate 20 pro. And now p30 pro. As benchmark for photography just no competition.

fragile phone, 2.5d screen, overmarketing about 90hz, sony is using 120 and 144 hz lol
another useless tablet for the masses, nothing special, also the camera performance is mediocre, paid dxo marketing ... if you put a wallet case on this one it will fit nowhere

Just noting the loss off the Sunlight Contrast Chart in some recent reviews, something I've found really useful. Is the data available elsewhere if not embedded in the review as here in the Oneplus 7 Plus review?

Max brightness 616 nits and using same camera sensor as mi9 with worst camera software with $720, yeah one plus 7 Pro comes with UFS 3.0 and 12 gig of ram and full screen that’s all about it nahh I’ll wait for iPhone 11 XS, note 10, pixel 3xl or mate 30 Pro and see what they offer plus the camera of one plus 7 Pro aren’t as good as mi9.

I told some guy here that that 4,000 mAH battery was not gonna be enough for that panel. I freakin' knew it. That 5G version is gonna be even worse.

Phones with bad battery life are useless to me (fast charging only degrades the phone's battery within a year of constant charging) so I'll be looking elsewhere...again...

Anonymous, 14 May 2019People crying about no SD card are ridiculous with the amou... moreMy 2.5 year old LG V20 would like to tell you everything wrong about that statement. Still as snappy as the day I got it and it's had a microSD card in there since week 1.

If I want to buy an unlocked U.S version of this phone.. where can I buy it? Amazon? Best Buy?

Wouldn't buying it from T-mobile mean it's locked or branded? I don't use any locked or branded phone.

I need an unlocked phone because I travel overseas a lot.

                            Anyone?

                            Thanks

Wow, its camera is WORSE than the one in the OnePlus 6. Talk about progress.

And still many years after its introduction nothing can beat the LG V20. Its camera is superb!

I would take a OnePlus anytime over Samsung or Huawei although i'm using a P30 atm. The UI Huawei uses ist just a pain in the ass.

Do you need UFS 3.0 for media files? No. You can store pictures, videos, music and movies on SD. Because that's the equivalent of using a RTX 2080Ti for Solitaire

If OnePlus truly cared about giving people a cheaper device, they'd offer an SD slot so you can buy the lowest ultra fast storage option and then add cheap SD storage.
