OnePlus 7 Pro review

14 May 2019
OnePlus has always sort of been a niche enthusiast's smartphone brand which may not be as popular as the majors, but it's carved a pretty nice niche for itself by delivering great smartphone hardware at equally great price points.

    Teddy Sadcat, 15 May 2019THE A50 GOT DETHRONED Finally after 3000 years...What????

You lads need to look again at those night shots! The detail from the 7 Pro shots embarrasses the night mode of the Pixel you compared it to. It's not even close, what are you seeing there that i'm not?

With headphones jack disappearing on a lot of flagships, is it possible to add BT audio quality feedback in your reviews?

SilentAsian11, 15 May 2019Really like one plus OIS I wish if huawei use the same OIS After experience with mate 20 Pro and one plus 6T I prefer Huawei UI over oxygen UI for one reason that Huawei allow you to remove some system apps that not any android phone can do it without root.

Marco M, 15 May 2019You don't have to run it at 90Hz though :-)Right.But why would I run it at 60Hz when there are other smartphones to run at 60Hz refresh rate but with way better camera, batterylife, certified IP resistance, reliability etc?
                ...Sad.

Is the Camera as shit as it was in the previous models? My 3T had such a disappointing camera quality. If the object moves - forget about taking a photo.

6.67"? Simply too big! If I want a device of this size then I would go for a tablet. 6.0" - 6.2" (max) would be perfect. And those SAR-values, 1.2 W/kg (head) and 1.4 W/kg (Body) are simply unacceptable! It's like carrying "nuclear core" in the pocket. SAR-values should have been 0.8 W/kg max. In addition, the price of 700,- euros for the basic configuration 6GB/128GB is simply too high! A price of 500,- euros for this version would be realistic. The lack of headphone jack, micro sd extension etc. is a deal breaker. The smartphone is large enough to include these basic things. Other than that, I like the design and the specs very much. Kudos Oneplus for the design and specs.

                      Hello.
Sorry, but I am missing several info. from your review:
Focal length of each camera. Your explanation main, wide and telephoto (3x) is not sufficient.
Bitrate and codeck of the videos ?
                      Sunlight display contrast ?
                      Thank you for supply.

Here's some camera comparisons. Mi9 being the obvious winner in good light, but it looks like Mi9 still has a lot to go on with regards to the camera software in low light. At least at the point when gsmarena tested it. Redmi note 7's processing beats it in low light. It's is quite possible that this has changed since, but I don't know for sure.

Oneplus has the more aggressive noise reduction, leading to quite a bit of fine detail loss. Quite a smudgy effect some places, even in good light.

I'm posting here because oppo ,vivo ,oneplus and realme they are from same parent company bbk electronics ,China . I'm owning oppo f9 pro ,it's the first time I'm using any device from oppo there are few issues I have been faced . 1. Battery was 13% and flash was not working ,displaying battery is low ,can't open the flash ( I did not get that ,is that some kind of bug or feature been added ,I bought the device for clicking pictures as well as calling ,if flash is not accessible even 13 % of juice ,it's just like a conventional feature cellphone ) .kindly consider my issue . 2. Sometimes the volume button doesn't work when you are on call and try to decrease/ increase the volume ,it works when you put cellphone away from your ears ,and screen again brighten up ( It happens 6-7 times out of 10) .3. sometimes screen don't get black when you on the call and there is some application displaying on main screen , like If you open message when you are on the call ,and then put again cellphone close to ears ,screen won't get off ( it happens 5 out of 10 ) .4.Device getting warm sometimes while multitasking or can say sometimes during call also . 5.last but not the least ,your customer care is not responsive ,calling since yesterday and nobody is answering ..Well it's been just a month I started using this device and faced such kind of annoying issues .try to fix it all and if possible provide some updates regarding to new andriod .. regards __another oppo user ,let me get chance to add as "proud oppo user" by solving such issues .

                                  where is mi 9 comparison?

As expected, what the camera setup delivers is just average considering most of the reviews so far available and not near the chart toppers. On a side note, DxoMark sometimes drinks a lot while testing cameras.

Having the ultra-wide lens on the OP7 Pro falling short of expectation and 90 Hz refresh rate is a battery hog, the vanilla OnePlus 7 looks like a way better deal!

Was there a need for the camera to go to ISO1600 for the low light photos? They certainly don't look too good. I reckon ISO800 is possible for a shutter speed of 1/10s.
