Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019Than why don't we call fhd 2k and qhd 3k? Why qhd is called 2k?A mistake of language just like megabytes and mebybites. And again hd, fullhd ... are commercial terms that have nothing to do with the technical terms

Sifat, 13 Jun 2019Everyone knows Xperia 1 has a professional level camera tec... moreBecause 99% of people want full auto mode. Point and shoot. I'm not interested in searching the menu when I can get great full auto shots. Buy a pro camera if you want all manual modes. Most other brands offer full auto, but only Sony is too stupid to realize this.

Chinese OP is never a good deal if itÂ’s more than 500$. Terrible after sales service, no SD card slot, low resolution screen, no 3.5mm jack, no IP rating etc. etc. to list a few. Other than sd855 what does OP offer that are not in the market? I wonÂ’t pay the same for a Chinese phone.

So i have used my Xperia 1 for two weeks now and thought I would sum up my user experiences so far. I will compare a few things to my previous phone which was the Xperia XZ3
Design- I was discouraged by the 21:9 aspect ratio but now I quite like it, easy to hold and being tall really isn't an issue can reach Abit more with one hand than I could with my XZ3.
Also no problems whatsoever fitting into pockets so everyone complaining about it not being able to fit in your pockets, don't worry.
Battery- Works for a whole day for me without having to charge but I am also no power user. About 2 hour Spotify, 30min YouTube, websurfing 3-4 hours, social media 2-3 hours, talking max 1 hour. also always on full brightness. Overall about the same as my XZ3
Screen- A beauty to look at, no complaints really
Performance- meets the expectations of the current gens of SD855
Camera- huge improvement over my XZ3, contrast are good, natural colors which for me is preferred over S10+ over saturated colors.
All in all a good all rounder, does it beat P30 pro or the S10+? Not really but for those out there that doesn't want the other two mainstream flagships I must say Xperia 1 is a great contender.
Pricing is on the higher side but really feels premium and much more over the XZ3. In the end whatever rocks your boat :)

On my old pc I do not have a usb-c!!!! %$#^* LOL and i don not have a laptop with a usb-c connector. I got to buy an adapter of sorts

Everyone knows Xperia 1 has a professional level camera tech with professional level camera applications... I think the guys in GSMArena are pro's... So, why don't you guys try out the camera in pro mode and give people a comprehensive review... Not just these auto mode snapshots reviews.....

Price is damn high with the issues it comes with like average battery and camera. I expected the best camera experience from Sony this time around but it seems not the case. Chinese OP 7 Pro is a better deal.

op, 13 Jun 2019Pixel Resolution isn't important at normal distance but col... moreAnd 326ppi in LCD terms or 490ppi in amoled terms is more than enough resolution.
What a healthy eye sees from normal reading distance 10-12 inches (25-30 cm), and you shouldn't hold your phone closer to your face than that, is 300ppi LCD / 450ppi amoled. If a screen is below those resolutions, it will look pixelated. If it's higher resolution than that, you would not see a difference anyway.
So this phone's 643ppi amoled is equivalent to an insane 429 real ppi (LCD), which you would not see a difference when comparing to a 300ppi LCD screen viewed from 10-12 inches (25-30 cm) away. Only if you get closer than that you will start noticing more details and more sharpness, but that's not how you use a smartphone. And if you do hold it closer to your face than that, you need corrective glasses.

I'm so tired of all the FUD surrounding Sony's 4K phones. For almost 5 years, every single review of the 4K-equipped phones is sure to note that almost no apps support 4K, and that it would somehow magically drain the battery so it's not worth it anyway. This is just nonsense at this point. Android still isn't really designed for 4K, it's true, but with a few trivial hacks that inevitably come out for each Xperia, you can force 4K on your phone. There's so many people saying it's imperceptible or fake in forums that I wound up taking a microscope to more than one of my phones, running single-pixel checkerboard patterns and other tests on them, and verifying that they indeed were running at 4K. And you really can tell. Text is sharper, images have impossible levels of detail, it doesn't take equipment to know when you stumble across an app that takes advantage of whatever the resolution happens to be. Not all apps are hard-coded for a certain maximum, this is another stupid story kids tell each other so they don't feel as bad about not being able to afford another phone, but in fact most apps will happily render at whatever your device is set to. Besides, the Pixel 3 XL runs at 2960x1440 and has appreciable differences that make blocker resolutions look ugly, and it's not constantly draining the battery - in fact it has some of the best battery life around. It's insane that Sony sets the default resolution so low, because at this point their recommended pre-hack resolution is lower than a lot of the competition. A crisp screen is more important than a good camera for me, I have good vision and I like being able to consume more information at farther-out zoom levels. Sony has the best screens around for that purpose, but you have to get past the ignorant reviewers who say the same lies every year, the ignorant fans who say the same lies every year, and Sony's obsession with underpowering Xperias down to resolutions from 2013.
