Anonymous, 15 Feb 2020Tell me, can the Xperia 1 fold?No. You probably haven't realized that you don't mainly use the Z flip folded. When it's unfolded and you are using it as a normal phone, the 22:9 aspect ratio does not get any smaller because "it folds." I'm taking time to break this down as simply and as politely as possible since the internet has all age groups. It would be a mistake on my part to assume that I'm responding to an adult.

Actually, I'm disappointed so much about the battery capacity and the miss of the telephoto cam, everything else is okay.

Why in Europe you have to pay €200 more than in the US?

I'm seeing hate on Sony for the Aspect Ratio. 21:9 is a standard ratio for movies. Sony's new Xperias are perfect for this. There is a difference between standard ratios (16:9 and 21:9) and unconventional ratios like 2:1, 19:9, 20:9 and especially 22:9.

The thing is, there are lots of people who blindly follow their brands and hate on others. There are fanboys who couldn't stop blasting Sony for the 21:9 ratio on the Xperia 1. Now they are quiet and happy with the Samsung's 22:9 ratio. Both phones are good, and especially the Xperia 1 has been gorgeous. The flip may well be a revelation. However, rather than the fanboys apologizing and accepting that they were wrong and biased, they'll jump on to the next bandwagon and excuse. Last year, we did say that the bashing of the innovative Sony aspect ratio would end once the other manufacturers copied. Alas! It has come to pass!

What's all this about pocket size? Back in the days, Asus's fonepad 7 fit in my pocket. Yes, it's a 7 inch tablet, and yes I had to choose my pants wisely. But i could still keep in in my pocket.

Played with it for a bit. The screen is definitely fascinating, considering that it's glass. The folding mechanism looks more durable than the flimsy gappy RAZR. You can definitely feel the crease, but overall it feels more durable than the Fold/RAZR. The crease won't be an issue for users after they get used to it (just like the notch).
It's definitely an interesting product. This is more eye-catching than the S20 ultra.

You can only basically use it when fully 6.7 at 21:9, so yeah... But we all saw it coming anyways. Samsung always follow up the next year.
