Considering that they hyped video dedicated sensor the quality of video is not above & beyond as one might think. It's right there in line with the other flagships of this and previous year.

The lack of actual ultrawide is a huge blow to this phone's usability. Why on earth would you do something like that to a perfectly good phone. What was the product design reasoning? "Let's increase the ultrawide photo quality by narrowing it to the point where it's not ultrawide anymore." Do they smoke crack during working hours?

Look at Samsung Galaxy S20 series with Exynos. Those use the same cores as Kirin 990, and Snapdragon 865 wipes the floor with it. A 20% difference in performance for a flagship SOC is massive.

For flagship, i say its either SD & Kirin. Now SD are superior, 6 month later Kirin. Its a never ending cycle. Basically u get great flagship performance from both.
And by the words u said cannot play games is utter nonsense. Even my Kirin 980 device can maxed-out heaviest games/apps, smoothly up until today. Either u know nothing about tech world or just simply tr0lling.

Shui8, 29 Mar 2020What? Your statement doesnt make any sense.Well let me say it more simply - the Kirin chip (not matter what version) is total garbage. It's many generations behind even midrange Dragons of Snap.

S Yu, 29 Mar 2020My guess is their ISP doesn't support stacking ZSL at an ac... moreThat's unlikely since Mate 30 Pro didn't even support ZSL in the first place. P30 Pro had no shutter lag when HDR didn't get triggered, but Mate 30 Pro had a slight "pause" after each shot regardless of whether it got triggered or not. P40 Pro's video stabilisation seems to be more effective than Mate 30 Pro's too (and there are less frame rate drops as well for some reason), probably because there's now more room to shift the frame around.. something I could perceive from video samples on Youtube.
Besides, if they didn't want increase the workload for ISP, they could've just kept the resolution the same. Huawei can obviously do that because they use custom made sensors by Sony. Now, it could be argued that they bumped the MP count for a marketing purpose, but I honestly don't think advertising that they have 52MP main camera would help in any way when many of its competitors have already moved onto 64MP or even 108MP sensors.

The kirin chips are garbage that are several years behind snapdragons and light years behind bionic chips..You can't even game on a kirin chip.

From the reviews of previous models I assumed that they didn't stack, but now they're explicitly saying that they do, so they probably do, and the sampling may have to take a hit.
Indeed as the UWA is the video module this shouldn't happen to the main otherwise.

Want a Mate 20X version of P40 Pro. Bigger flat screen, bigger battery, huge stereo speakers.
I am sure the Night Mode issue will be resolved in an update. Huawei always update camera processing after release.

Anonymous, 29 Mar 2020No I do too. The P30 pro is also now a great deal ! Count me in. Right now P30 Pro price is insanely cheap for the specs, especially camera. Their camera tech already 1 year ahead beyond others when it launched last year, so you wouldnt left behind even buy it in 2020. Kirin 980 not par with others in specsheet, but in real-life usage its just a different in mili-second, which can still maxed-out heaviest games/apps and using it smoothly.
Love the minimalized notch more & still got minimal bezels when hide it in settings. Owh the GMS included are as bonus.

Do not buy any Huawei phone. I warn you. I sold my Honor Play after 5 months of owning it because I noticed suspicious activity. For several consecutive days I noticed my data was on and I didn't even use internet but still my daily data limit was exhausted. I didn't even use whatsapp or any social media app nor did I use internet to download or watch anything. Seems like all my files stored on the 64 GB internal memory and the additional Micro SD card were uploaded to Chinese govt server for surveillance I think. Rest your choice.
